★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and quiet area. Extremely beautiful! Perfect place to spend the day as it stays nice and cool in the valley.
Lots of picnic benches, a swing set and slide for kids, and an outhouse. Access to the stream. 1.5 km walking loop, pretty easy except for the stairs. Be aware of bears and wildlife!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place for a short, easy hike. There was a bit of slush in places today, but the ground was solid underneath, and there were no unavoidable puddles, so don't be afraid of stopping by if there's a bit of melting snow

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is quite a small park, but scenic though, and along the river. Very long set stairs down to the river (safe with railings, but may be quite arduous for some older or out-of-shape people to climb back up). Interesting coal mining history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for a shortish walk in the foothills. Under an hour from Calgary. Parking lot for about 8 vehicles but not super busy. A ton of stairs in the circuits for the hike but that is part of the adventure here! Can be very slippery in winter. Note that the playground and picnic tables are all at the bottom of the first major set of stairs. That's the only knock here: day use is a pretty hefty pack in/out if you were planning on a picnic or BBQ.
