Westfield Apartments

Pros - Nice enough neighbours - Tamara is responsive & helpful - Convenient neighbourhood - Cheap (relatively speaking) but you get what you pay for. Cons - EXTREMELY drafty windows… Prior to adding weather stripping during the cold months, I’d actually sometimes notice my curtains gently blowing from the draft… I had thermal curtains and they had to remain shut all fall/winter unless it was really warm and sunny because otherwise, it’d be too cold. Heat had to be on at full blast on 25 degrees as a result. - I was on the 2nd floor, and one of the neighbor’s apartment smells so badly of cigarette smoke and B.O. that if they held the door open long enough the whole hallway would reak. The smell would also seep under my front door and make my apartment stink. - Cigarette smoke often leaks into my apartment from the range hood above the stove. When I informed Ray (superintendent), all he did was leave me a message saying that he didn’t smell anything and to let him know if it smelled again. Didn’t seem at all concerned. I had a problem with the fridge and he had a similarly unconcerned response until I pressed him - which I shouldn’t have had to. - They did not replace the air filter when I first moved in. There was about a half-inch thick layer of dust, grime, and pet hair on it when I checked it out. I always seemed to have minor health issues (itchy/sore throat, runny nose, allergies) during my tenancy & which isn't a typical issue for me. It could be just because it's so dry due to the drafty windows, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's also a dust/mold issue.
