★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unique among Canada's Rocky Mountain National Parks, Waterton Lakes National Park is the place where the prairie meets the mountains. In spots the prairie grasses even climb the foot of some individual mountains.
This park is a unique biodiverse environment where deer and mountain sheep comingle in the Park Village. Stand in some places in the park and you can look west to mountains that start right in front of you. Then turn and look to the east and you can see far prairie vistas with the horizon 10 to 20 kilometers away. This park is a unique spot in the second largest country in the world and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site (along with Glacier National Park in Montana; together the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a place of beautiful scenery even though damaged by fire a couple years back it still is a sight to see. There are many trails to hike, wildlife, and sights to see. I give a 4/5 because the town is being modernized instead of keeping its traditional look by natural log buildings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always a treat to go here... Both Redrock Canyon and Cameron Lake are open now after the devastating fires a few years ago. Roads were newly paved throughout... Go check it out!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always love visiting. Greatest + is, no crowds. Freedom to move around. Beautiful waters, and Cameron Lake is a must visit...a mere 15 kms from Waterton Park.

Lots of bathrooms that are actually maintained daily. But could still use a full on pressure wash every day or two.
Long docks and a beach area for launching kayaks and paddle boards.

We had an amazing day which was capped of by seeing a brown bear and getting some photos.
What a wonderfully kept national park,plenty of places to stop to take in the views,absolutely lovedd it. Beautiful lakes,plus you can hire boats,kayaks,paddle boards and fishing tackle,all for hire at a very reasonable price.
