“PASSION BECAME PURPOSE AND THEN OUR PROFESSION “
THE IDEA TO OPEN A MEAT SHOP CAME TO US WAY BACK IN 2017, WE USED TO DISCUSS ABOUT THE QUALITY OF GOAT AND CHICKEN THAT WAS AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET BUT DID NOT TASTE AS FRESH OR AS TENDER AS IT USED TO BE BACK IN INDIA BEFORE WE CAME TO CANADA. WE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO SOMETHING OF OUR OWN BUT WERE BUSY WITH OUR JOBS, THINGS CHANGED IN EARLY 2020 WHEN WE DECIDED TO QUIT OUR STABLE JOBS AND STARTED LOOKING FOR LOCAL FARMERS WHO RAISED FRESH CHICKEN, LAMB AND GOAT TO OPEN A DAILY FRESH AND NEVER FROZEN MEAT COUNTER IN EDMONTON. IT TOOK US AROUND 6 MONTHS TO MAKE DIFFERENT RECEPIES FOR MARINATINONS USING AUTHENTIC INDIAN RAW SPICES AS WE DID NOT WANT TO USE ANY SAUCES FOR MARINATIONS AS THEY CONTAINED PRESERVATIVES. WE OPENED OUR FIRST STORE IN WALKER LAKE PLAZA WHICH IS AN EASY ACCESS FOR CUSTOMERS FROM EDMONTON AND BEAUMONT THUS NAMING THE SHOP AFTER THE AREA. WE WERE TOTALLY NEW TO THE BUSINESS BUT MADE OUR PASSION OUR WORK AND WERE READY TO LEARN FROM OUR INITIAL MISTAKES AND CUSTOMER FEEDBACKS.
WE ARE HAPPY TO SAY THAT PEOPLE OF ALBERTA ACCEPTED US AND LIKED OUR CONCEPT OF DIRECT-TO-CONSUMER FRESH MEAT COUNTER. WE AT WALKER LAKE MEAT SHOP WORK EXCEPTIONALLY HARD TO KEEP CUSTOMERS HAPPY AND PROVIDE THEM WITH BEST QUALITY MEATS.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I used to enjoy the food here, it was good and a reasonable price. Unfortunately, it seems popularity has wrecked the service. Placed an order and was told 30 minutes. I arrived on time and waited another 10 minutes then the person at the counter told me 10 more minutes. Too many good places to eat in the area to deal with them wasting my time. I won't be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good price for great food. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Great if you need seasoned foods to cook right away - everything comes marinaded and ready to cook. With the immense selection it’s hard to imagine not finding something to like. The basa fish is incredible and the selection of chicken cuts are amazing! Kebabs are delicious as well. Can’t wait to try everything!
