★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a former employee of WJS Vegreville, but I quit because I will not stand by and watch injustices happen to staff and clients from WJS.
Such as :
- denying clients the right to a healthy diet (even after staff and clients have written up a healthier meal plan), current meal plans offer frozen junk food 6 days a week.
- denying clients the right to a behavioural support plan (staff are told to “wing it” cause Cherokee staff “always figure it out by ourselves” by Aaron Blackburn the “counsellor”)
- Moving long time Cherokee staff to different houses , which creates a devastating inconsistency in client support systems, effecting their wellbeing
- tolerating continued employee med errors and missed hygiene practices (even after staff have brought it to their attention), and punishing all staff to redo courses when not all staff were messing up
- Team Lead telling staff that they have to be at work even when they admit they are having symptoms
- Failure to debrief clients and staff after severely violent incidents, and failure to adequately train and inform employees for such situations (no self defense training when there is a clear need for it (and apparently it used to be in the training)
- No attempt to inform staff of behavioural triggers (Christmas presents being upstairs) for clients which obviously sets staff up for failure)
