About Vulcan Golf And Country Club

About Us

The Vulcan Golf and Country Club is a semi-private 18 hole championship golf course that encourages new members and extends a warm small town welcome to the public. The front nine was established in 1923 and the back nine was built in 2007. We offer two distinctly different nines, the front nine is a mature well treed layout where as the back nine offers more of a links style layout with large undulating greens that are protected with sand and water hazards. Our signature hole is the par three 18th. This hole ranges from 107-184 yards and requires an accurate tee shot to a green that is surrounded by numerous sand traps and water that covers the left hand side of the fairway. Our pro shop offers an excellent selection of the latest and greatest in golf equipment and apparel. Our professional staff offers club fitting and numerous teaching/lesson programs. Warm up properly on the range before you begin your round. Enjoy the excellent service in our fully licensed clubhouse with outdoor patio and BBQ. Allow us to host your social or corporate outing or simply “beam down” for a round of golf and/or a meal with family or friends. The Vulcan Golf and Country Club is the perfect destination for all your golfing needs. We are definitely “Worth The Drive”.

We went for 18 holes...the guys in front of us held us up for about 14 holes. We get to the clubhouse and the guy tells us we were way too slow and that there was no way we should have taken that long. I told him about the guys in front of us and he says we should have played faster for those last 4 holes. Pretty terrible attitude for a course that isn't all that great. Paid $150 for 2 of us for a course that wasn't worth it.

I have very mixed feelings with my visit to the The Vulcan Golf course earlier today. It was my first visit to this establishment and it had been quite a few years since my last tee time. I found the green fees very fairly priced, the course itself in decent shape ... and a nice patio for some tasty drinks or a bite afterwards. However, the customer service was very lacking from a man who seemed to be the manager. This man "Gord" made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome upon entry as he made loud comments about my " attire " that apparently wasn't up to his "standards" for what he says women should wear to golf. I was wearing athletic wear and Nike sports shorts, and as a beginner golfer I felt that would be deemed appropriate. Today's visit was my first and most likely my last visit to the course because of treatment and degrading comments made by their employee. Definitely not a great way to get repeat customers in a small town.

I love this place! Doing a golf camp here and the instructors are amazing, helped me figure out how I play best, and overall super nice. The place is very well put together and the actual building is very nice.

What a great course! The pace was relaxed and pleasant, and the grounds were very well kept. Even the tees are shaped like the Starship Enterprise - so cute! We had a great time and will definitely go back!

Nice prairie course. Front nine Is dead unfortunately. As in the greens look like a dog run. The back nine are much different and nice. We played in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The course Marshall spoke to us, to tell us to speed up. We would have finished in 3 hours if we weren’t waiting at the tees. Unbelievable. I’ve played golf in Alberta for 30 years. First and last time playing here. Back To D’Arcy Or turner valley for us.

Beautiful golf course! Played 36 holes (can play all day golf) and the back 9 is just breathtaking! Unfortunate that the restaurant was closed that day but it's all good.

The fact this whole town has taken on he "Star Trek Vulcan" image is awesome!! The course is a nice mix of 'old small town Alberta' and new Les Furber design gave this track 2 completely different 9s. Having played many small town courses the front 9 is very typical of this type of course with old growth trees and smaller greens. The back 9 is very typical of most Furber designs with wide fairways, large greens and large bunkers. Very forgiving. The staff was friendly and the food was good. If I had one complaint it would be that they do not sell their tee box markers which are amazing. I would recommend a stop here for most avid golfers (get directions to the 10th tee).

The lay out was great. We came for the all day golf, they told us it didn’t exist. Then on the 18th tee is says ask about their all day golf rates, still they told us it didn’t exist. Also we booked the 7:09am tee time, the pro shop girl was late and proceeded to tell us she had to drive to Stewart’s to get the key, we were over 30 minutes late for our golf time. The course and golf was nice but the front desk people, website and management sucked. Unfortunately I would say to avoid this one go play Nanton instead.
