Victoria School - Edmonton

2020-2021 was my first school year at Vic, I'd like to say how much I dislike this school. Its super cliquey and toxic, The teachers don't really care about you or your work, was constantly bullied by the older girls until I switched to online, thought about suicide the entire year, I experienced racism being an indigenous person, And this school completely tore down my self esteem and mental health. I really really hate this school. Wouldn't recommend

A very fake, shallow and dishonest school. If you are nothing like the people at this school they will shut you out and make you feel horrible about yourself, in fact this school maybe even more clique than any other school, I was more lonely at this school than any other school I have been to, the people here also will treat being oppressed like it's a contest. I will admit that some of the teachers are pretty cool but then some of them are very unsupportive and have no faith in you. When I was writing my diploma they pulled my reader out of the exam and because of that I ended up failing parts of it. This school ruined my self esteem and mental health, some of it has left a stain on me to this day. I graduated in 2019 , to this very day I regret going there and wish I went to a different school. So all and all I would not recommend this atrocious school, if you are considering then please don't there are far better schools to go to.

i think this is a lovely school. it's a very supportive and welcoming environment, and a great school for LGBT+ students. but the student services supports-- especially for mental health-- are terrible and do not help. some teachers are really rude and unhelpful. the students are generally really nice and ive made some great friends here, but some are jerks and will call you slurs in the gym locker room. but other than that, great school !

The school is great, the staff are great, the kids are great. I absolutely detest the parking and driving situation at after school pick up so that's why 4 out 5 stars

Great school. My kids have been going there for the last six year's and couldn't complain at all.

I have now gone to Vic for almost a full year, And I am going to go to a new school next year... Cliquey kids, Really rude and Joke about sensitive topics such as TW: H*ate Crimes, Su*cide, Mu*der, and more... I feel so shamed for not having latest Phone, or trendy clothes, I've had people pick up my I phone (6s) and compare it to their I phone 11,12, and 13. Made a ton of friends at the start of the year then they all drifted away and shut me out, I felt sad and depressed... I would talk to ppl at lunch outside break and they would walk away as I was talking to them... also, as someone who has bad asthma the washrooms are a big vape hot spot, I've been there 1 year (almost) and have sat beside someone vaping at least 5 times, bad for my lungs. Also the washrooms are not well kept and have bad vandalism with bodily fluids and writing/drawing, one incident made me physically ill 2 times... told a teacher they said they would get someone and they started talking to a fellow teacher. Trying to feel motivated to go to school in the morning or even stay the full day was hard. Talking to the councilors is not great and 1 of them even started swearing … a lot of the programs are not for grade 7's or 8's so Its hard to find and extra curricular activity other than the sports teams. I would rate 0 stars... I would honestly like going to a different school that has music and art options + more. As an IB school kids have extremally un-positive mindsets and are generally RUDE Goodluck to anyone applying here and... thanks for reading!

Not a fan. I think they need to challenge students more academically. In social terms, students are generally respectful and staff are supportive, but it's so hard to make friends if you aren't really like everyone else-- everyone makes their groups and doesn't really care to branch out and create new friendships; so halfway through the year, if you don't have friends, you're probably not going to gain any more. For some people it's the right fit, but it's definitely not a fit for me.

It's a very draining school, if you think this school is all rainbows and sunshine, it's not. it's hard to make new friends, and you easily get tired of attending there. Kids there are very toxic, rumors spread like crazy, also be aware that you need to pay student fees unlike other schools, option classes cost around 30 bucks each and you need to pay for books, don't be shocked when you see a 300 dollar fee in your school fees, not worth my money, most of the art programs they offer are the same with other schools, so go to a different school instead
