About Vermilion Public Library
Vermilion Public Library is a member of the Northern Lights Library System (NLLS). NLLS is one part of seven regional library systems across Alberta, helping deliver library services to all Albertans, regardless of where they live. The Vermilion Public Library was established by the Frog Lake Chapter of IODE in 1931 with 113 books. In 1932 they officially founded the Vermilion Public Library and years later turned the library over to the town. From those modest beginnings to now, the IODE continues to support our Library. The Vermilion Public Library is an integral part of the Town of Vermilion, serving as a primary source of educational, cultural and informational needs. From the public access computers to our collection of books, movies and audio-books, Vermilion Residents can be proud of their library. The Vermilion Public Library is governed by a Library Board. The Board meets on the last Wednesday of of the month with the exceptions of July, August and December. The Board chairperson is Richard Yaceyko.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hosted my sister's bridal shower in the basement of the Vermilion Public Library. It has been recently renovated (it looks very light and open) and was a great size for our party (about 30) but had room for at least 20 more people. The staff in the library were helpful and the cost was very affordable. There were bathrooms in the basement as well as a kitchenette (no stove), it also has A/C which was much needed that day! I would definitely use it again if I’m ever hosting in Vermilion!
