I've purchased 2 vehicles from Velocity now. The first is an 04 Daihatsu Hijet I bought just over 2 years ago that has served me as a daily driver for most of that time. It's needed nothing except regular maintenance. I've moved with this tiny truck, taken it off-road, and held highway speeds with no signs of trouble. The second I purchased recently, an 05 Subaru WRX. They were extremely helpful, providing me with as much information as they could while I waited for the car to go through inspection. I can't wait to enjoy this car for many years to come! For both vehicles, I've been incredibly impressed by how low the mileage is (both under 100k km for 15+ year old cars), how I was treated by all staff members, the negotiation process, and how informed they kept me throughout the process. Velocity Cars has reliable, trustworthy, and knowledgeable staff. They are very particular about the cars they bring in, and they're extremely welcoming, even during the pandemic.

Nice selection of cars and friendly staff. Cars are sold as-is, literally as when they arrive from Japan, no professional detailing job. I didn’t end up getting the car as we were not able to reach a deal. They didn’t seem whiling to fix some obvious problems with the car, or lower the price so I could get them fixed myself.

Amazing cars and customer service We were looking for a Delica, and after visiting two other cars dealers in the Lower Mainland, a friend of ours recommended us to go to Velocity cars. I have to say that I was impressed by the huge choice of cars, their quality, as well as the service. Luis took care of us and showed us the different models, compared them, opened cars and hoods. He was knowledgeable, answering very specific questions and showing us how to be able to see by ourselves. We noted that all the Delicas have brand new snow tires (we were in October and this was not the case at the two other dealerships we visited before for the same price). We tried two Delicas (very different price and options) with success: we were able to choose easily the one that was best suiting our needs (we were offered to show the car to a professional of our own to get an other opinion). During the whole decision process, Luis was discrete yet helpful. The purchase went smoothly and he was able to advise us on insurance and maintenance questions. A representative of ICBC came to us with the park plates we had chosen. Velocity offers an excellent after sale service. After the purchase, Luis stayed available for us, answered our questions and gave us advice when needed. I had specific requests (for example I wanted to know what parts to bring with us on an extended road trip), and he sent me a super detailed email to help me plan. Last but not least, Velocity is not only a car dealer, it is also a mechanic shop. Therefore, they know how to pick the cars and prepare them for you to get the best experience, and they can also follow you through the life of your vehicule for its maintenance after purchase, especially in this niche market of imported cars (they know how to get the parts and what are the characteristics of your vehicle). I highly recommend Velocity and Luis for your car needs.

Was happy with my 2006 legacy with 80,000km …after driving it for just 2000km it had front end noise . I took it to a third party mechanic as I should have done from day one . They tell me the transmission is leaking from the front diff and it has obviously been separated . All four strut are worn bad , needs control arm bushings , and axel boots are throwing grease . They change maybe $100 in parts ( arm bushings ) and don’t intended to do anything more . I even found paper work from the secondary inspection garage showing they knew about the leak and never disclosed this paper work to me . I have a pending case with the VSA and may take it further to SCC. , don’t trust their integrity as a β€œ premium dealer β€œ …what a joke

I had heard bad stories about crooked dishonest and deceiving car dealers; but Riley and Brandon did make those people look like angels ; I called Velocity cars asked about Subaru Forrester ; Riley over the phone told me that they have three in stock but not ready for test drive; however I could go there and test drive another RHD car; we drove 45 min in Friday pm rush hours to get there; when we got there; Riley was gone; Brandon first denied that Riley is part of their Sales team which was a lie; even their website indicates him as sales team; when I told Brandon that Riley has told us to go over there to test drive ; he said not possible; then he suggested we can at least look at Subarus; in a few seconds ; he came up with another lie; said there is no Subaru on yard; these guys have no respect for people time; no integrity to keep their words ; and they are not worth your business.

My son purchased a 2002 Toyota Crown Athlete from Velocity Cars in July 2021. It had 130,000 genuine kms on the clock. It was imported direct from Japan. Velocity did all government inspections and got it certified for Canada. All in, the car cost approximately $18,000. December 29th 2021. The car started having an issue with the transmission. It would not go to into reverse. It developed a sudden leak of transmission fluid. In the end we called BCAA and got it towed to Toyota in Kerrisdale. We have been informed by their certified mechanic that the transmission has seized and will now require a total rebuilt. The mechanic was puzzled as a car with such low mileage wouldn’t normally have transmission issues. This is estimated to be $3500. We called Velocity Cars. According to the documentation provided, we were given the impression that the warranty was for 1 year, 12,000 km. Serg the manager informed us that actually the warranty was for a maximum $600 with Lubrico. We found him very unhelpful. At the time of purchase we were not informed about purchasing extended warranty. We are now left having to pay $3500 out of our own pocket. Having read other reviews on Yelp, apparently this has been a recurring theme for other customers with this company. β€˜Buyer beware’ indeed especially with Velocity Cars.

Picked up a beautiful 2003 Subaru Legacy 2.0GT Spec B from Velocity, Brandon was very informative and patient while I was there, making it a comfortable and easy experience! Great people selling great cars, I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a JDM car.

Brandon was an advocate, making sure I got approved with the best terms even though initially I didn’t get approved for financing. Highly would recommend buying a car from velocity for their great customer service. - Alfred
