The ladies in the store or vantastic always love going there and they're about three or four times a month

Some very spirited volunteers do their best to help out the community. Drop by and give them a donation or help in the soup kitchen

Tried to get ahold of one of their clients threw them to offer a job, i was told they dont relay messages , and they couldnt put her on the phone . i was told later that she was standing there when they took the call. Sounds like a make work project to me !

A standard 'homeless hangout' & place to eat 3 meals a day...offering free veggies, fruit, bread & buns. As far as supplying homeless needs, it seems to be doing what it has set out to do. This place has a distubing factor tho.....toooo mannny druggies in the area, within a 1 block radius - druggies doing their drugs & 'on the nod' right in front of the building everyday in broad daylite - & no cops to be seen..except behind The People Place.

Just moved back to the Vernon area. Got a full time/part time job which isn't paying me enough money to make ends meet. I had a friend suggest the gospel mission, for bread and also a warm lunch and supper. So I went there to give it a go. On the way in there was addicts openly doing and selling drugs. Why is there no staff outside telling them to simply put it away not go away(I don't discriminate)? This service should cater to everyone ... and everyone should feel safe. Now here is when it gets really bad. I go inside and as I was getting bread off the shelf a "gentleman" walks out with a full cart of baked goods. And as he was putting them on a shelf a very elderly woman walks up and takes a package off his cart. This man stops what he is doing ... turns to this elderly woman, takes the package right out of her hands and proceeded to give her hell for not waiting for him to put them on the shelf. The look of utter embarrassment on this elderly women's face was horrible!!!!!!! What's even worse then this, is litteraly 2 seconds behind her walks in this younger attractive women who walks up to this same said "gentleman" and without even asking or having to wait for these items to be put on a shelf, this man gives her so much stuff she could barely carry ??????? What's wrong with this world !!!!! Now, what could make this evem worse ?? Its that I called made a complaint and not only was nothing done, this same man is still not only workin there ... but is still as arrogant as ever. To me it seems like he gets a kick out of choosing who goes hungry today :( walks away with a smug smile on his face. I feel like people who have a job like this ... And getting paid to to a job like this, should have some compassion for the community and all the people in it. He should be held accountable for this wrong !!!!!! I'm at the point where I feel like something SHOULD be done !!!! And no one is LISTENING. Maybe I make a few calls to my MLA and Castanet... Some one will listen

Alot of times and more often than not the food is sadly illprepared potentially on the verge of inedible I like their desire to accommodate but certainly not at the homeless and indigents health physically pls

I don't know what I would've done if Vernon didn't have this place and these people here who Feed and volunteer their time and energy to help you.
