University of Montreal located in Quebec, Canada is a French-language public research university serving the aspirants since 1878. The university has affiliations with HEC Montreal and Polytechnique Montreal. Home to 67,559 students from diverse regions, the university is known to be 3rd most international university in Canada. Around 73% of the total students are enrolled in undergraduate programs at UdeM while 27% in graduate programs which is also the highest proportion of graduate enrollments in Canada. Admission to these courses at the university is invited for fall and winter semesters. Though the university focuses on offering admission to academically elite applicants, scores are not the only criteria for making decisions. International applicants applying to University of Montreal are also scrutinized on the basis of various other factors like LORs, personal statements, and language proficiency. Apart from needing ELP scores, international students will need at least B2 level in their French proficiency exams as most of the courses are offered in the French Language.

Courses there are of an average quality. I found the campus very hard and confusing to navigate and could use some cleaning. They have a wide variety of interesting programs.

4.5 stars. I chose this place because the website is very comprehensive and it's easier to navigate than McGill's or Concordia's. That was very useful in choosing my curriculum. The application process was very smooth, only a few question marks. This being said as any application process you need to provide this and that, so be ready and start early. In terms of the main campus the buildings are a bit old (some are being renovated) and it's less pretty than McGill. However the hillside and the view are very nice.

Unfortunately, the University of Montreal is one of the worst universities to respond to students emails. Some professors practically refuse to respond to students and in some cases deliberately delay graduation to get more tuition fee, and no one asks why a student should spend more time on campus instead of finishing his or her course quickly and enter the labor market.

I was and am still a graduate student. I was required to take the course BCM 60511/2 and my professors/evaluators were Nicole Francis and Eric Milot. I am here to testify on a case of arbitrary correction that constitutes a breach of professional ethics or deontology, that remains unadmitted and unaddressed by the department of biochemistry and molecular medicine, faculty of medicine. I contacted Dre. Francis to understand how she justified her correction of the first assignment, but it was evident that she did not respect the established guidelines. I not only exceeded the expectations, but said guidelines also made no mention of the exact structure that we ought to follow due to their inherent lack of specificity. Dr. Milot's correction of the second assignment was unacceptable and penalizing as it was not done according to the fixed criteria. These unprofessional proceedings were dismissed. This situation has resulted in severe distress that further exacerbated pre-existing health conditions. It is important to understand that preparing the next generations of students-researchers requires that one leads by example, that is to say an example of integrity.

L' Université de Montreal is a nice looking University and here is my review for it. Firstly, the Campus is beautiful. The buildings look and feel old which is nice although they do need a lot of renovation for their older buildings. Some are connected with corridors and passageways and it is nice to walk and see the photos and nice design of the campus. This University is similar to McGill. They have programs you can find that are simat to McGill's except it is in French. École polytechnique is a nice engineering school as well and the building feels old and again renovation is key here. They have a cool atrium, library and seating pretty much anywhere and the views are sick. A lot of Green spaces, parks and quiet since you a little further from downtown and in the Cote de beiges area. This University is fully french so just be aware when you are getting your services but there are some who speak English and may help you out if need be. This university should be sustainable and environmentally adaptable to future climate change. I hope they do their duediligence for that. They need to eliminate fossil fuels and turn into zero waste, zero pollution and become leed platinum and have electric vehicles or bikes for their patrol and other services. They should do better for the environment and I hope to see those changes in the near future. They have good programs here especially with Health, science, medicine and engineering. Many programs are quite interesting and there is also UQÀM if there are programs here that you can't find witht the Arts and vice versa. This university is like McGill with the French. All in all a nice campus and pavillion with amazing spaces to visit and I pass by from time to time. For future, current and past students we all need to be thankful for the education you get from UdeM and be grateful for your time there and be thankful for your education from this great University!
