My kids have been attending Geering Up activities for years now. They love both the hands-on and virtual activities, the amazing staff and the fact that there is something for every age group from K-12. A truly empowering program.

β β β β β My son attended the STEM & STEAM camps this summer. He had so much fun that he didnβt realize he was learning. The programs were very well-organized, and the teachers were enthusiastic! Iβd definitely recommend this program.

β β β β β My Granddaughter has been taken UBC computers clases including Saturday workshops for five years. She loves her instructors and the amazing projects like building her own game and coding. I hope she will end up at UBC Computer Science-once she graduates from High School!
Great for girls to be in this field! Thanks to UBC!

β β β β β My kids absolutely love Geering Up. They have been attending courses for four years now I think and if they havenβt been to a class in a few months they start asking βWhenβs the next Geering Up dad?β Theyβve learned coding, done makers classes, done in person summer camps, at home online courses and every single one has been the highest quality, in every sense, and my kids are always excited to show and tell about what they have learned or created that day. I would highly recommend these classes to anyone with kids in the Vancouver area. 5 stars!

β β β β β My children have taken several different programs online over the past few years with Geering Up at UBC. My children really enjoyed taking difficult courses such as Creative Coders, Intro to Python, STEM, and after school homework clubs. The Geering Up program is taught by UBC students and do a really excellent job, I definitely recommend their programs - and am extremely grateful that they have a Bursary program available to families who may not be able to participate otherwise (Kale in admissions is very helpful) Thank you everyone at Geering Up!

β β β β β Both of my children joined a variety of camps @ubc geering up for three years. They especially love the coding class very much as they learned how to create a lot of games using programming. The instructor are very supportive and patient to help them in each class. This summer my younger kid joined the creative coding (using Scratch) and my older kids finished the python this summer. It is amazing that now they can design their own game and have fun with it.

β β β β β I would highly recommend these camps. My seven year old had a blast and still, weeks later, refers to the experience. The days were well organized, while the instructors and volunteers were engaging and fun. Best of all parents received a daily activity report to let us know what the children did all day, which led to some fun conversations with our kids about their completed projects. Will definitely be signing up again.
