L	Lysandra Langevin on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The amount and variety of fabric is pretty amazing. It's actually easier to find rare, unexpected fabric rather than the right dye of regular coton mix. The prices are good. BUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. I don't know how management is, but they are always looking for new people. I rarely see the same staff while I always come around the same day and time for many years now. Employees often seem annoyed or lost when you ask for their help. They will argue that two fabric rolls are the same when they are not. Pointing them that a fabric's tail is dirty will get you a sigh and a "dont you wash your fabrics before sewing?". Ordering a fabric roll can take up to 4 months, if possible at all. After many years of coming, I honestly still only go because it's the best quality-rarity-price in terms of fabric. I could self-serve honestly.
M	M Eagle on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely the best place in Montreal in terms of price and selection combined. Don't bother with the shops on St. Hubert. This place and Globe-Tex right next door are much more affordable. For example, what you find on St. Hubert at 15$/meter, will be cost 11/meter at Tonitex, and 8.95 at if you buy over 10 meters of it. I only gave 4 stars because customer service at Tonitex is a pain. There are not enough employees to help the number of clients they receive. Especially on Saturdays, --you actually have to be pushy to get your materials cut. They could also stand to improve their selection of vinyls. My advice-- is start at Globetex, which is cheaper bc its over stock, hope to get lucky, and if not then definitely go to Tonitex. Very glad to have this establishment in our city!

They do have some varieties but not that much specially in cotton. my main concern is about pricing. It was reasonably ok but now they suddenly increased from 12 to 15%. Surprised because nothing new found there, so what can be the reason for price hiking.

I am just a home sewer - not purchasing high quantity and I had the assistance of 4 lovely ladies helping me. Every time I turned around there was someone there asking to help me. Got some great quality fabric at a good price that I’m excited to return home to sew. UPDATE Given the pandemic I have been unable to make my annual Montreal fabric shopping trip. I needed something specific and communicated with Tonitex via email. Based on just email information, I made an online purchase. It was simple and quick. Their suggestion was perfect and I couldn't be more thrilled with the fabric I purchased. Even without being there to 'touch' it, because of their helpful staff - I received EXACTLY what I wanted and needed! Shipping cost was very reasonable and arrived very quickly! Can't wait to shop in person again.
