About Tom Forsyth Family Recovery Coaching
In 2009 I was living on the street, hopeless and broken. I had been to detox twelve times and drug and alcohol treatment centres seven times.
Quitting wasn't the problem; staying stopped was. So why did I keep going back to drugs and alcohol?
Being disconnected from myself and others, I was driven by fear and anger because of everything I put myself and my family through.
The shame and guilt would pile up to the point where I couldn't take it anymore. I would go back to the one thing that would take the pain away instantly, only to cause more pain later and it became a never-ending cycle.
Until, one day, someone showed me how to look at my past and deal with the thoughts and emotions as they came up. I worked tirelessly on my past traumas, rebuilt my relationships and spent most of my time working with other addicts.
