About Third Academy

As a growing school with a multitude of programs and areas of specialty, we are always looking to add exceptional individuals to our team. Third Academy currently employs approximately 50 professionals. In addition, we assist post-secondary student complete their practicum assignments by providing a placement to the right candidates. Practicum Experience

Third Academy is considered Calgary’s best location for post-secondary students completing their practicum placement working with special needs children. We have accepted students from a variety of academic programs and institutions. While our standards and expectations are high, we provide the right applicants with exceptional support and supervision.

Volunteer Opportunities

Third Academy always has opportunities for members of the community to assist our elementary and junior/senior high schools. These range from assistance in fundraising to working with special needs children. The assignment is dependent upon one’s experience and interest. We share a common goal of assisting children.

N	Nancy Klein on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The CEO of the school Sunil Mattu changed locations this year for not paying the rent at the last schools location for 4 years. He has had children at the school die in a fatal bus accident and a child severely beaten at the school and he took zero responsibility for any of it. Brushing it off as not a big deal. Please if you care about your children's safety and education then do not send your children to this school.

I was struggling in my old school before I came here and now I have the support to get me through. I came here in grade 6 around 2016-2017 and since then I have matured more and became more aware of my environment. I used to be very hyperactive but now I’m more controlled, letting me be able to focus on my academics. I personally think this is a great school and recommend you to bring your child here , if they are having difficulties with their current school. I am Herry Tu and I am in Grade 10 right now. Thank you third academy for helping me on my journey and still guiding me today.
T	The Critic named Pib24 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am a student at the third academy and while we can be reckless and crazy and sometimes down right scary, I still view the students and the teachers as my family. we are there for each other and I know for a fact that if all of you who think negatively about our school took the time to get to know us, I can almost promise that you'll see what I see. Yes ,we do fight but all family's do . And if you see the students having a fit it's mostly because the children who attend this school are special and have special needs, And that is exactly what Dr Mattu created this school for , To help kids learn in ways that work and not in ways that pubic school teachers think is proper. Everyone there is amazing in there own way. I have never been happier at another school in my life , And that's the truth. Not only that but I have also met some of my life long friend there. Please don't judge something just because its different.

The staff is very laid back, sometimes they do absolutely NOTHING to care for our education! In the past year I'v had a friend expelled for a teachers wrong doing! My friend said that he/she had gotten HIT by one of our faculty members. I'v only made 4 friends here because it's population is so bad. But I'm being honest here; This school is literally a living Hell Hole. I do NOT suggest placing your child in this place. If you care for your child's education and far more safety please do not go here. I beg of you do not place your child in this HellHole!

They've been here for 2 years now and I've never seen my daughter with better grades in her life. Her teachers r awesome and go the extra mile to make sure she gets done what needs to b done. Sunil works with me when it comes to school fees as we're not one of those big rich families. We're low income but I can still send my kids here thanks to sunil. I had all 3 kids tested and had psycho-educational exams done on them and now know why my 10 year old is having trouble in certain subjects and how to help him. I now know why my 6 year old acts the way he does and how to handle him properly so it's easy on both of us and not always fighting. This school is the best place for your children to go. I've recommended it to my neighbour who girls will be going there next year and my stepdaughter will be attending here as well next year. Couldn't ask for a better school for my children to grow up in.
H	Hawkes on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The CEO of the school Sunil Mattu had to close it's south campus this past school year for not paying the rent for the 4 years it occupied the building. A child died in a fatal bus accident in 2007, after they irresponsibly kept a bus driver on duty while being aware of her being suicidal. In 2013 I was severely beaten at the school, I ended up in the hospital with numerous abrasions, and a concussion. Sunil took zero responsibility for any of it, trying to accuse my family of making false accusations. After this incident took place I never wanted to return to the school. I feared for my safety everyday. The other student was suspended for one day, and I was forced to sit in the same classroom as him like nothing ever happened. I ended up getting transferred over to the North Campus, as if it was my fault. Sunil doesn't care about your kids and only wants your money because the Mattu family and the school are bankrupt. If you care about your children's safety and education then don't send your children to The Third Academy. A handful of teachers quit over the last 4 years and if that doesn't say something I don't know what will. You are better off sending your children to school elsewhere.
