★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is located inside the train station along with a little cafe/bistro. It has locally made items and McBride gifts. We purchased a wood train xmas tree ornament and a pair of hand knit baby booties. We were also told of a model train set that was tucked away. An employee walked us over to a door where an older gentleman was working away on his huge model train set! Our 3yr old and my husband absolutely loved it! There is a tip jar there and I do encourage people to leave a tip as he opens his doors to strangers. Overall a great little place for a rest stop! Also there are public washrooms in this building.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stopped at the McBride VIA Rail Station in July 2019 during our trip to Prince Rupert from Jasper. There was a nice Art and Crafts Gallery gallery housed within the heritage station building. The gallery has some of the paintings and art works done by the local artists on display.. The name of the gallery is ‘Whistle Stop Gallery’. There is also a café and coffee shop called ‘The Beanery’.
We wish we could have browsed a bit more but the locomotive’s engineer sounded the train’s hooter, the conductor blew her whistle, and we had to board our train to head to Prince George.
