Great summer camp where I spent 6 amazing summers as a camper and staff. Wonderful staff in a beautiful environment. The kids pick up so many new skills and gain a lot of confidence in themselves.

My daughter loved the try out camp and she wants to do the 12 day camp next year. It was a great experience, highly organized that I believe builds self confidence and leadership qualities.

This camp has been part of my life for 15 years now. I grew up attending Camp Wapomeo, enjoying the large range of activities offered and taking advantage of the canoe tripping program starting at 12 years old. Attending Camp Wapomeo as a camper shaped me into the person I am today. I attribute my independence, leadership skills and ability to face any challenge to my time at Wapomeo and cannot imagine spending my summers anywhere else. I'd have to say that my favourite aspect of the camp is the long canoe trip program, which ranges from 22-50 days throughout Ontario and Quebec. If you are looking for a camp that is back to basics in it's approach, rich with history and prides itself in it's sense of community, then this the camp for you.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I was a camper there for 6 years and got to do one long trip and it was probably one of the best experiences of my life! I always looked forward to my summers at Wapomeo and always cried when I had to go home. I would recommend it to anyone who loves the outdoors, camping and living a simple lifestyle. I will always be grateful for the staff and fellow campers who have become some of my closest friends and I can say with 100% certainty that I wouldn't be who I am today had I not gone to Wap.

My daughter faced deep racism I recommend no going her. Irresponsible staff letting kids say racist things to other kids. It made my daughter's camping experience very terrible, in her cabin, there were people NAKED a kid FILMING! The letters I received were like ” help, help get me out of here” it left my daughter traumatized. The kids even opened up her suitcase and stole some of her things, of course CAMP WAMPMEO did not care or even support my child. The lesson this camp gives is ”be racist”.DO NOT SEND YOU’RE CHILD THERE.

The US-Canadian boarder was closed due to the virus outbreak. Also, I was concerned about racially charged comments at the camp - the camp had issues on this before. So after the camp staff reassured me the deposit would be refunded if the camp is canceled, I withdrew the registration. Now the camp was in deed canceled but the camp staff denied she said that, a complete change of tone from the initial friendliness. I sent them the emails we exchanged as proof. No one responded to my calls or emails. They basically just ignored me because they could I suppose. This is not a fair and honest way to handle issues, I am deeply disappointed with Taylor Statten.

My sister and I went to this camp from 1975-1982, and then returned as staff members for a couple of years. I have been attending September Camp with my family since 1992 and now my daughter is a regular and devoted camper every summer. This camp is in my heart and soul. Why? Because I met five of my best friends there who continue to be the most important people in my life. And because the skills I learned there - independence, environmental awareness, leadership, survival, team-building and perseverance - have helped me throughout my personal and professional life.

Greatest experience of my life. Met so many cool people. If you don't go your missing out. The camp Ahmek councillors are kind and genuine people. Side Note: Whitaker Malcolm should run the camp one day.
