About The Homesteader
Our family immigrated to Canada in 2008 and bought The Homesteader in 2009. Since then we have been able to support our daughter through an commerce degree at University of Saskatchewan and have our two boys educated as they are currently attending Kindersley Composite School. Since taking over The Homesteader we have focused on creating quality food fit for the Canadian taste. We make EVERYTHING from basic ingredients, we do NOT serve pre-made items packaged from suppliers. Our egg rolls, ginger beef, wontons, sweet & sour sauce, among our other items, are all made right here; you can taste the quality! We have a unique taste that must be experienced, you'll return again and again, and find something new with every visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have had Singapore Noodles all over North America - some were good, some were bad, and I rate a Chinese Restaurant by how well they can make this dish.
The ones I had today at The Homesteader were the best I've ever eaten. - bar none.
Large, plump chunks of tender chicken, plenty of shrimp, and the BBQ pork slices were excellent.
Definitely recommend this dish and restaurant for its Chinese Food.
Huge portions, reasonable prices, can't beat the overall value.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow amazing!!! Very fresh ingredients/ vegetables used in their dishes! Very generous portions. It is a simple, quaint, clean little restaurant that i would definitely recommend. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal it was beyond excellent!!!!( I had a cashew/vegetable dish)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came across this restaurant when we’re passing thru Kindersley enroute to Calgary. The staff were accommodating and the the food was delicious! We had one of the specials and one of the Dinner for One options. Food was very affordable, we paid $12 for each! This place is great for freshly cooked family dinner or if you’re like us who’s looking for a quick lunch while passing through the city! Great experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Passed through town and stopped for a quick meal. Plants in every window which was nice, but they were covered in mealy bugs! The giant fish in aquarium have tumors growing on them! First impressions were not pleasant! The food was alright, but not the best Chinese I've ever had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered House Special Shanghai Noodles (shrimp, BBQ pork, chicken, broccoli, carrots, celery, bok choy, onions, etc.) and dry ribs. The lady that took my order was polite and helpful, the portions were huge and the food was flavorful. Highly recommend this place.
