Would give 5 stars but I'm not a fan of having to hide my identity now that I'm a superhero after visiting this power station.

The 2016 Luminato Festival marks our 10th anniversary – my fifth and final Festival and CEO Anthony Sargent’s first. Next year we’re creating something truly special to celebrate all the creativity and inventiveness of the city that gave birth to Luminato – something that will have a lasting impact in Toronto - a city becoming more ambitious about its own potential every day. "The Hearn Generating Station is a unique industrial landmark in the world. It is three times larger than the Tate Modern, the Statue of Liberty fits in it upright (or on its side), and it sits proudly on Toronto’s waterfront. Its smokestack is one of the only structures in Toronto (apart from the CN Tower) you can see distinctly from across the lake on a good day. Every architecture student, architect, and urbanist in Toronto has probably dreamt about what the Hearn could be. In 2016 Luminato will turn on the Hearn," Luminato 2016

On Nov. 22, 2018, OPG announced the sale of our R.L. Hearn Generating Station site located on Unwin Avenue in the Portlands area of Toronto to Studios of America Corporation (Studios), the long-term tenant and property manager of the property. The R.L. Hearn Generating Station was the site of Canada’s first 100 Megawatt (MW) steam turbo-generator station, eventually expanding to a capacity of 1,200 MW. The station produced electricity from 1951 to 1983 and at one time supplied 10% of Ontario’s power. Many OPG operators, maintainers, technicians and professionals began their careers and were trained at the station and then went on to work at OPG’s renewable generation and nuclear stations. How many movies and TV shows can you name which involve a scene set it an abandoned factory? Dozens, right? Well, a fair few were shot at the old Hearn Generating Station, a former power station in the Port Lands district of Toronto. Although it’s not technically a tourist attraction, the site has been attracting urban explorers and photographers for years, and has also been used for several big parties and music festivals. If you are going to take a look at the building, be extremely careful as there have been accidents here.

I happened to stumble upon this place while attempting to go towards the Pilsen Pier. Packed with traffic, I kept driving and found a perfect road for some scenic pictures. Luckily for me, they turned out great and I now have a cool spot for some car photography!!
