The massive (26,600 square foot) floor plate is unusually large for a heritage building. Its size allows departments, divisions and companies to be contained on one floor without undesirable fracturing. This enables staff to work more efficiently and provides for maximum productivity.
The challenge of bringing light into the depth of the interior, a problem normally associated with large floor plates, is solved by the building's large light-giving interior atrium plunging completely to the main level. The light well provides light to the interior of the building, and simultaneously provides nearly double the amount of glazing to offices. The extensive exterior glazing provides a panoramic view of the downtown area, including the popular historic Forks and river development.
