Great service, awesome food and the ability to actually enjoy the day! The BBQ was right on the spot for 35 people and it balanced everyone's dietary needs. We would never hesitate to recommend them.

The food was incredible and Kirstin and Chef Martin were professional and very communicative. Thank you for making our special day filled with delicious food! Funny note at first I asked chef to remove the Mac and cheese from our menu cause I didn't think it was 'classy' enough well good thing I took his advice cause it has been a week since our wedding and people are still talking about how good it was!

With plans continuously shifting based on provincial restrictions, Chef Martin was very flexible with our changing schedule, venue and number of people served. Aside from the logistics, the meal itself was delicious. All of our guests have since commented about how wonderful the meal was. After the dinner service, our kitchen was left in better shape than what they found it. All in all, a great experience! Thank you Chef Martin and Kristin!

The food was fantastic, from the appies to main course and especially dessert. Chef entertained our guests and even disclosed some of his prized recipes; Thai prawn appie, stuffed mushrooms, cheddar rosemary shortbreads. Beef tenderloin and rack of lamb (to die for) etc. etc. chef did all the heavy lifting; shopping, cooking, serving & cleanup……what a treat! We hope to have you come again Chef, many thanks.

We had to cancel our wedding because of COVID, so we worked with Chef to do an intimate small dinner to celebrate. Your time with Chef is not just about food, it’s a full experience. He has wonderful stories to share and he is more than happy to help with tips and suggestions on your own cooking and baking questions, we learned so many interesting things. The meal itself was unbelievable, everything was so fresh and had such unique and beautiful flavours. If you’re considering Chef Martin, seriously, book him. Food can truly make or break an event and I have no doubt that you and your guests will be raving about Chef Martin’s creations for years after your event!

They were very flexible and helpful in dealing with the changing requirements for public health orders. Also, they are very organized and experienced which was helpful on such a busy day for us. Our guests enjoyed the variety of BBQ meats, veggie chilli, and bright colourful salads. We especially LOVED the Mac and Cheese but everything was so tasty! We would 100% recommend The Chef in Stead for any event you need to be catered.

Chef Martin was easy to communicate with and quick to respond with alternate dates when our initial plan didn't work out. He was professional, informative and entertaining through the night. Chef Martin was able to answer any questions and demonstrated many of his cooking techniques to our guests. If you are only looking for an amazing meal, Chef Martin might not be the right person for your job. If you are looking for an amazing meal, cooked by an engaging and entertaining professional Chef who will take care of all the details while creating an enjoyable and worry free experience, then Chef Martin should be your first call. Chef Martin will make sure you are fed with the highest quality ingredients and you will not leave hungry! Thank you for making this milestone event one that will not be forgotten.

We ended up having him cater a meal for our immediate family and it was so amazing! Everyone loved the meal and we were so glad we were still able to have him and Kristen be a part of our wedding day. Fast forward to 2021- we had re-booked Chef for 2021 for our postponed reception (which we ended up canceling because of covid). Again, Chef Martin was always so responsive to emails and so helpful as we navigated all these changes. We ended up having a BBQ meal with a group of family and friends instead and again we were blown away with the quality and variety. There was something for everyone and the menu was incredible. Especially the Mac and cheese! With booking two events with the Chef we can say we were very happy with how upfront and clear he is with his information. You know what you are getting and he doesn't let you down. We would 100% hire the Chef again for future events and we were glad we got to enjoy two amazing meals prepared by Chef and Kristen!
