First the good; it's very authentic and the fish, chips and pies are very good. The food I would recommend as it is very nice. However the price is ridiculous; I've lived in Okotoks 3 years but only tried this place once because of the price. Around $55 for one chips, pie and gravy and one chips, fish and gravy is very expensive, especially with portions of chips being so small, potatoes cost nothing and so I don't understand why the chip portion is so small. It's 5.95 for 1 small tub of gravy, that's a bit much. We'd go more often but at these prices I can get takeout at pretty much every place in Okotoks for two people, get more food and still have 15 to 20 dollars in my pocket.

Chips were burnt, sausage didn't taste like British sausage from the chippy (like it had been pulled straight from the freezer) and very expensive. Won't be going back. Picture of my daughter's food!

Excellent fries. Good service. The fish was a bit lacking though. Nothing wrong with it per se. Just not alot of flavor and needed a bit more crunch

A wonderful little place on the main Street of Okotoks. One of the owners (at least we thought it was) came out and had quite a delighted conversation about the downtown Okotoks event today. The fish and chips were amazing and replicated what you get in England. A very positive experience. A cozy place with super friendly staff and will definitely return.

My friend and I had lunch here on Tuesday. The piece of cod fish was of ample size and very tasty. The curry sauce was typical English curry but did taste a little bit water l down compared to what I'm used to in Scotland. The service was great.

Traditional British-style fish & chips. Friendly service, the prices are a bit high in my personal opinion.

The best fish n chips I’ve found in Alberta so far. They even serve homemade mushy peas and battered sausage! Very nice atmosphere and the batter is light and includes a gluten free option on the fish. The hand cut fries are perfect and fresh.

I ordered their haddock and chips and an extra order of chips (takeaway) on my way home tonight. I picked it up and it was ready on time. I then drove less than three minutes back to my destination. When I got it back and opened it up it was one heaping pile of a soggy greasy mess. Not only did I pay too much for this meal, I added a 20% tip! Over $30.00! Can you imagine the disappointment? I called them to let them know why I wasn’t happy with the food - that there are two main reasons for fish and chips to come out like that: old cooking fat/oil or temperature of the oil is too low. (My family owned restaurants on and off over the years. My dad was a cook. We know about these things.) The clerk who answered the phone didn’t seem to care. She said it was because of the way the food was wrapped (seriously), and it was out of her hands. I would not recommend wasting your money at the British Chippy. There is nothing remotely similar to traditional British fish and chips.
