This contractor is a thief, the guy takes deposit starts jobs then won't finish and will give every excuse in the book. Stay away from this company.

We hired TDH contracting to legalize our duplex. We were soon disappointed by the lack of care shown by the crew when it came to making sure our house was secure at the end of the day. I went by my property on a Friday afternoon and found windows wide open in our basement with the heat blasting. We had a very wet weekend if I had not been by the house my basement would have most certainly been flooded for a second time. I closed and locked the window turned down the thermostat and informed the contractor, Ben, via email, he said he would make sure it didn't happen again. The work continued as is does. In March we recieved our gas bill for February and it was over $200! No one was living in the home we found this unreasonable and contacted Ben again. He was defensive and argumentative stating that they knew if an issue with the thermostat and were not sure how to operate it as it is a newer model. I asked why no one had mentioned it the last time I dropped off a payment and he avoided further communication on the matter. Upon "completion" the owner and accountant started to contact me repeatedly to pay my final balance in a hurry. There was no walk through or further communication aside from telling me work was done and my final payment was due. I took the first opportunity I could to stop by my house to see the competed work and found that items were not completed. I informed Ben that items were left undone and the contractor became defensive and argumentative he tried to guilt me by saying he had put in so many freebies (which we never asked for) and that he had to pay his crew he kept insisting that I pay just any money but I held my ground and told him we would pay in full once it was complete I only owed $5K at this point. The work was completed and I did another walk through and found that my glass top stove upstairs had been scratched it was brought to Ben's attention and he ignored me. At this time we still had no request order with the city for a curb cut and the building permit was not closed which means we had no duplex certificate which was the whole point of the contract in the first place could not be issued. I asked that these also be completed before we finalize our last payment. They were finished and I paid, however I also found after that when they renovated the front porch they did not cover the sofits on the newly exposed area to match the rest of the house and it appears unfinished and looks unfinished. I emailed Ben with no response. In summation communication was poor, no accountability or apology for any of the issues and damage. I do not recommended this company.
