Absolutely awful service. I was advised by a different landlord in Edmonton to call and look into my rights with this board because he "knew the situation was illegal" and that they could help. I was not only unable to explain the situation because I was continuously interrupted, but I was spoken to like I was stupid and incompetent. The fact that this government service treats people like this is horrendous and extremely disappointing. I was calling because I was curious, stressed, and told they could help. Instead, I was talked down to and treated horribly. There clearly needs to be better training for the employees of this board and if they hate their job that much that they feel the need to treat polite people that poorly, I am confident there is a Taco Bell that will hire them.

My experience has been the same as other reviewers. It depends on who you talk too. I had one lady who was very rude, condescending and provided me with incorrect information. She had no interest in hearing me out and just kept telling me I was in the wrong (which I know now I was most definitely not). Other times I have called and spoken to 2 different men and they were both very nice and listened to what I had to say before providing helpful advice on what steps I should take to resolve the issue. In future I would suggest that anyone who has a landlord/tenant issue, call Service Alberta instead. Everyone I have talked to there are very nice and can help with the same types of situations.

A lot of bad reviews on here and I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I called twice (as a tenant) in the the last 10 mins and both Dennis and Carol did an amazing job of giving me clear and concise answer to all of my questions. They were also both extremely polite and took time to hear my issues fully before starting to give me some generic answer (a lot of reviews suggested such things were happening). All in all, a pleasant experience.

They are very straightforward. You don't always get the answer you're hoping for, but the advice I've been given has been absolutely phenomenal. Many people on here complaining that they didn't get the service they wanted need to know that they are just being given the legal information based on the act. It may not make you happy but it is what it is. At least you have all the information & can proceed making an informed decision. They put on an excellent course. Take it.

The lady on the phone was attentive and could understand the situation I was going through. However, there is not much could be done through the phone and they are trying to work out through each cases under the rules/law of landlord and tenancy act (idk)? They are trying to understand the situation from both sides and not be biased towards the individual that is talking to them on the phone. Nothing was solved at the end because I would have to go to the court if I want someone to further investigate my case. But she gave me few ideas and suggestions and I was open to them.

I just called and spoke with a female today at 12:57 and she was extremely rude and hostile to the point i said " you are very hostile and im ending this phone call " and she replied all happy and chipper " alright then have a good day " She did not care at all and was very rude. I asked her for support of the city run service she is representing on a few matters and she literally told me to go talk to a lawyer, she wouldn't listen to my whole issue before speaking over me. I would not recommend this service to anyone until they have people working the phones who actually care about what they do. If you are having a issue with a landlord then DO NOT CALL THESE FOLKS THEY ARE NO HELP. If anyone from that office in managment wants to contact me to speak about this then i am very open and willing to that because i need support still in these stressful times

Today I needed a few rental forms to complete I move in application. The staff are so friendly and there is a beautiful woman at the front desk who so helpful and kind. If you are ever stuck with any rental situation this is the place to come. The staff here are so friendly and very efficient. As a real estate broker I highly recommend this place to everyone. It's a great resource to have.
