We went there for brunch and the food as well as the service was good and fast. I would come back to this place any time

Making reservations is difficult here. Made a reservation three months ago and it was not accepted in the location we requested. Stubborn manager. Very stubborn. Outside seating needs to be cleaned up. The dust from the road needs some attention. Placemats would be nice. The outdoor ambience very poor. The wine list is limited. They ran out of the wine we ordered. The staff was very good. The food good. The risotto overcooked. This is not the place for fine dining, it is very very casual. Almost too casual. Invited Montreal friends and they were shocked that we choose this place, As we came from Waterloo, Ontario. i guess winter dining with warm brick walls made it a lovely first experience. They also had alternative wines on our first experience to offer, lovely Chablis. So in general if you want good food with your tank tops on, hat on, anything goes this is your place. Disappointed with the experience. The manager could have made it all work, but he just would not listen. He did however take cigar breaks in front of the restaurant less than twenty feet from door. The chefs should demand more for their talents.

Fantastic gastronomical experience with outstanding service by Dom! We had a fabulous experience on the patio with the aroma of the food tickling our taste buds. When the food was served, it did not disappoint! The drink recommendations by Dom were perfect for our table of 4 with each one having diverse preferences. Don really went above and beyond to keep us entertained and ensure our service was top notch!

This is my second time here but my parents have been here everytime they come to Montreal and swear by it, but I think this was their last time. The service was spotty at best and I'm sure we would have racked up our bill much higher had they stopped by to take a new drink order. The food itself wasn't bad, but it really was nothing special. We ordered off the Table d'hote which seemed incredibly overpriced for what it was. The plates are also quite large for the portion sizes so it looks like you really aren't getting your money's worth. The beet salad came with no dressing (I asked for some and they brought me olive oil) and the cauliflower steak was good with the salsa but quite bland otherwise. The crème brûlée was delicious though; the only saving grace. The atmosphere itself was hot--temperature wise--and there was no ice for our water. Also, it was quite loud, especially for a Monday night, and the staff were all wearing masks improperly which set the tone for a disappointing evening.

I walked in on a Saturday morning for brunch and was delighted to see this place was empty! I had great royal service from the staff and a hearty breakfast poutine to start my day. All wrapped up in a gorgeous little restaurant in a prime spot in Old Montreal. Definitely worth going back to.

Loved it here! The service was great and very sweet to treat our birthday friend to a surprise. Great seats right in the middle of the old port and yummy food worth the price which can often be difficult in old Montreal. Very nice experience and would go back.

Went for Brunch; I did not really have a brunch item. My ribs were tasty though! The corn was so yummy!!! Service was slow, it was busy and they were understaffed but our server gave us free shooters at the end. So he was excused! Its in the old port so u can go for a stroll after.

Really enjoyed our sugar shack brunch the past Sunday. Boutin Noir is special. And crispy chicken on maple waffle is very tasty. Portions are big (enough guys, too much for ladies). Very reasonably priced at $24. Food was fresh and well-prepared. This brunch has changed my impression on sugar shack menu. The other ones (traditional country style) are too meaty and greasy. Nothing but pork, and I happen not a pork fan. Service was fast and efficient. Little touch of the festive deco. Everything was perfect. Only I forgot to tell the waitress that the salad dressing could use a bit less salt since the sauce was all on the bottom. Thumbs to the chef and cook!
