Fantastic hike up to the Sri Chinmoy Peace Statue. Gorgeous views on a clear day of the islands. Well worth the 30 minute hike up. Some interesting aphorism plaques on the way up too.

The most heavenly park.

Beautiful forest climb but not for the faint of heart. Steep climb with lots of stone stairs. But it isn't slippery and we climbed in the rain. Ropes along some stairs help.

Nice hike , lots of area to explore. Moderate/strong incline, narrow paths and switchbacks in the beginning. Trail markers at times are a little hard to decifer. lots of quotes to read along the way from Sri Chinmoy. Also a bronze statue at the top. Beautiful view of Trincomali channel, spinx Island and west Parker, can see Saltspring all the way to Mount Bruce to the south west.

A well maintained hike with multiple trails. Some lead to the shore, some lead up to a view point. We did the Peace trail and the view wasn't too amazing ... It leads to a clearing with benches and a statue of the man himself (the one who believes in peace and the source of all the quotes inscribed on plaques along the trail). It's a mediation area and I'm sure more popular in the summer. Can picnic or eat and relax there before going down. There is a small tea table and stump chairs 3/4 of the way up. BEAUTIFUL giant arbutus, Pacific red cedar, ferns and other North West coast organisms. If you're from Vancouver you gotta appreciate the phenomenonal arbutus. (: Difficulty wise: it can be difficult especially at the narrow passes. It is steep and you should wear proper hiking shoes. The trail can get slippery in the rain and there is a rope to help near the steep stairs. I wouldn't recommend for an easy hike, not really for super young or elderly unless they normally hike. We did this hike in the winter. It was intermediate difficulty because of the steepness and narrow zig zag path. But at least it is short. About 1 hour (40 minutes on the way up and 20 minutes down). I'm not an active or fit person but I can still do it. Park in the wooded area NEAR the outhouse/ park sign buy don't block the entrance!! Just go a bit deeper on the RIGHT of the signs/outhouse.

I recommend taking a picture of the trail before going up. Steep narrow stone stairway hike. My partner was uncomfortable going back down so we had to find an alternate route back to the main road. I thought the trail was kind of cool, but I can see how the bronze plaques and statue may make others feel uncomfortable as well. Some of the deeper trails seem less maintained and may even go into private property, so you have to be aware of this.

The views and positive messaging metal plaques along the way make this a worthwhile hike. It is a ‘medium’ exertion to get to the top that definitely gets the heart pumping. The pull off to the main entrance sneaks up on you, so be on the lookout for the blue sign on the side of the road. Parking is limited. It looks like it has been awhile since the trail has been maintained, so expect some area to have low vegetation hanging over the path. There are make-shift benches along the way to pause, take a breath and reflect. The paths beyond the top, where you will see the statute and ‘meditation sanctuary’ we’re not obvious enough to me to continue on the different trails.
