The main Lodge is where guests can enjoy our meals, tell stories of the days’ adventures, develop new friendships, watch a game, or connect with family back home with our satellite Wi-Fi. We provide a truly friendly atmosphere where guests feel welcome and become close friends.

We have rental boats, a small store, gas, ice, bait, and guides to enhance the fishing and hunting experience. We also offer day trips into remote unpressured lakes by either hiking or chartering the services of a local float plane company. We offer all of this at a price that the working man can afford.

My wife and I came last year for our honeymoon and were blown away by how friendly and helpful everyone was. Beautiful location, scenery, and outstanding fishing. We will be back every year. Can't recommend highly enough. We love it.
O	Ole Braaten on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Todd, Paul and Cydney were great! We were blessed with negative 30's below zero for several days...worse with wind chill. Big snows before we arrived made travel on the lake difficult even on snowmobiles. Thankfully we were able to use their heated ice houses to fish safely and comfortably. Paul and Cydney would come out to check on us, deliver minnows, and even moved an ice house for our buddies to fish in. Two mornings they had to tent and heat our snowmobiles in the morning in order for them to start. Weather can always be the trump card in a fishing trip and this cold front was epic. Our cabin was comfortable and stocked with plenty of wood to keep us warm in the frigid temperatures. We caught plenty of fish everyday and had several great Canadian walleye fish fries! Paul and Cyd usually checked in on us morning and evening to make sure everything was ok and to see if we needed anything. They truly were wonderful hosts, super hard workers and just honestly caring people who you enjoyed spending time with. I know friends who have musky fished there in the summer and have had great trips as well. Two members of this group are returning in the fall for a whitetail hunting trip. I would highly recommend Tamarack Island Wilderness Lodge for your next Canadian fishing or hunting trip. They will do all they can to make sure it is safe, successful and enjoyable.
d	dave vance on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 8 years since my son and I made our last visit. Tamarack has made some nice improvements. Some units are remodeled with nice showers and new knotty pine and flooring. Better lighting and clean facilities in the fish house. Staff super friendly and helpful. Oh yeah, new burners and grills. And most importantly great fishing. Cold this week upon arrival but no bugs was a great trade off. Walleye were abundant all week with many 20+ in size. Pike were slow to start but picked up as the water warmed during the week and caught several 30+. While not fishing for Muskie we caught several and saw many others. Can’t beat the price anywhere else. Looking forward to getting back sooner than 8 more years!!
