Tallpine Lodges - Your Romantic Getaway in the Whiteshell

We needed this. Thank you everyone at Tall Pine for creating such a wonderful atmosphere. Room was completely private and just perfect in details. Staff was super friendly and ready to help any way they could. Check in and out was a piece of cake. Added bonus to meet cricket, this adorable jack Russell terrier that brightens the day with a greeting.

My husband and I returned for our first getaway from the kids in 14 years for our 20th anniversary. It was perfect. The staff were wonderful and the cabins are so comfortable. We enjoyed every minute of it. Super close to anything you need and the hiking trails around it are so much fun. Couldn’t ask for a more perfect romantic couples getaway! Thank you Tallpine!

When I was here, I really enjoyed my stay. Very welcoming with amazing hosts. While we weren't supposed too, we did feed some squirrels, birds, and deer. It was quite the Snow White moment. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great stay to get away, with just the other half. Cozy, clean, comfortable and quiet. Also my wife owns her own cleaning company. She brings product to clean everywhere we stay. Most often needs to be done too. Here at the Tall Pines, she was impressed and didn't have to pre-clean at all. 4 thumbs Up!! Keep up the great service.

If I could give it a zero I would. I called ahead of time to inquire about the winter activities - mainly ice fishing - and was told that there would be many places to do so but upon arrival I was informed that the lakes are not frozen enough until at least January if not February. I had asked if all staff knew this piece of information to which the woman responded yes which means I was lied to right off the bat. I was also told there would be stores and restaurants open but there were none and she told me to drive 45 minutes to Kenora which was closed due to covid. I was told one restaurant (not plural anymore) was suppose to open but didn't and when I expressed my concerns she replied rudely, "well it's not our fault" instead of trying to be compassionate about the fact that my Christmas gift to my partner/New Years Eve plans were all but ruined. The winter activities were all canceled because of the weather which would have been nice to know before booking as well. She mentioned the store had everything we needed for food but the esso is very limited and considering the cabin doesn't have an oven you are limited on what you can cook. They call themselves a romantic getaway but there was nothing romantic about it, it was simply an extremely small cabin with a jacuzzi ploped right in the middle of the room which I think I kicked three times walking around or to the bathroom in the middle of the night. There were no candles, wine, no ambiance what so ever. The TV was broken and it took someone over 20 minutes to come from two cabins over to fix it plus it was such a small TV I could barely see what was on. I would NOT recommend this place. I booked for two nights and ended up just leaving after the first day because it wasn't worth it and what a surprise, they did not even care to ask why.

Just stayed at Tall Pines Lodge and my husband and I loved it! The cabins are clean and comfortable and the heart shaped jacuzzi was adorable! You can tell the owners are hard working and take pride in their establishment. Support local and visit Tall Pines.

Quiet and cozy getaway, but with everything you need near by. Friendly staff (and animals!!), clean cabins, relaxing atmosphere and just a great value overall. This was an awesome first experience and we are hoping to make this a yearly winter trip!

Enjoyed our stay! Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. Owners of the property were friendly and helpful. Nice to have a resort that offers equipment for seasonal outdoor activities at no charge. If the interior of cabins were updated I would give the place 5 stars. We stayed in #2 and couches, bedding, flooring etc was definitely tired and in need of updating. And sadly, fireplaces have been eliminated. Very clean which helped. We’ll be back sometime but not for cabin ambience.
