The owner (Jonny) was also very helpful in introducing us to other qualified and helpful suppliers and professionals that acted as a team to design and build our rather large retaining wall system. (That was our place in the photo where the machine is working right between the slope and the house- ... and not one mark was left on the house!)
Jonny made this process much easier (and much less expensive) for us than it could have been otherwise. We really liked how he thinks outside of the box to come up with the most efficient way to handle any situation. His daily communication and updates were excellent and much appreciated.
Jonny is true professional, a great guy to deal with and pure magic when operating his machines. We would definitely use Tall Timber Excavating again, without hesitation.

Jon is one of the highly talented and dynamic operators, whose rapid success and reputation, is built upon delivering competitive pricing and highly efficient services for property owners. Working excavators in his backyard since age 10, Jon is agile and dextrous at the controls. Most impressively, is his ability to visualize work sites as a 3D puzzle, analyzing terrain & soil conditions, for a safe, efficient work site. Following a detailed site visit, Jon identified the proper sequence of work and best sized excavator for the job, and provided a rough estimate of machine hours, type and volume of material needed for the job that was quite accurate.
Jon was hired for the Cedar Sky Highway at 14; his experience includes logging & civil operations, Hydro creek diversions, environmental remediation with environmental consultants and biologists in eco-sensitive areas around BC. “Be prepared for surprises, soil conditions on the Sunshine Coast can vary on residential lots”. Jon is quick to offer work around solutions when conditions vary, including pros and cons of each and their respective cost considerations. Supported by a network of responsive and flexible suppliers, a variety of materials arrive when called for, further saving time and money.
Project intricacies and challenges encountered at every stage were explained for my informed decisions, resulting in total transparency and outstanding customer satisfaction. If you have a house build or a complex project, I highly recommend Jon. Great contractors are always busy but this excellent company is well worth the wait.
