★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a member of TEC for over 7 years as a newly minted CEO. The speakers that were presented each month broadened my horizons while simultaneously sharpening my focus on the business. What makes them outstanding is that the chairpeople responsible for each group ensures that you stay committed to a plan with goals and priorities all year long.
TEC was my board of advisors but they actually care about you as a person. They were my shoulder to lean on and an opportunity to leverage my skills by helping the other members of the group. Any CEO with a healthy dose of self awareness would benefit greatly from joining TEC Canada!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I joined TEC in June of 2016 at the recommendation of a colleague. While I didn't connect well with the group leader, I very much enjoyed the other members and saw tremendous value in their support as well as the resource speakers. I found the one on one sessions with our group leader a challenge, often spinning in circles.
It became very obvious early on that the group leaders priority was growing the group, even to an uncomfortably high # of over 10-12 which doesn't fit into most boardrooms. Given the high monthly fee, I was also very surprised to learn that members are responsible for footing the cost of a venue and food for one meeting a year. Considering the average cost is $1000/mth x 10+ members, it's odd that this doesn't cover this for the participants.
As time continued, I felt more and more disconnected from my group which culminated with an incident where my group leader was extremely disrespectful to me during one of our meetings. I gave 6 weeks notice that I wanted to cancel and was reminded I had to give 3 months notice - which seems extremely excessive for a service I'd no longer be using.
The majority of service providers, even utility companies and telecom companies only require 30 days so 90 days is extreme. TEC head office has absolutely no dispute resolution in place for an unsatisfied customer and immediately escalated the situation to an extremely rude credit department.
I found the entire experience to be unfavourable and am confident there are other organizations that would be more affordable and provide a much higher quality of service such as Entrepreneur's Organization or other mentorship / mastermind groups.
