Sumas Mountain Farms

First time buyers here, and to say we were WOWED would be an understatement. We’ve been searching for months for locally sourced ethical grass-fed beef, and to our delight we found this place. We decided to sous vide the tenderloin, and it was delectable. The flavour and tenderness was just insane. I just don’t have words to explain how good it was. Since it was our first time trying grass-fed, we were a little hesitant, but Kelly was so super helpful and engaging, and shared some really good recipes. If I could rate you guys I’d rate 10/10 stars. Definitely will be buying again! (And hopefully very soon!)

we love the chicken so much. We wanted soy free and organic and found online and bought. So happy we did. Regular customers now. And we then tried beef, so much good that when I cook my husband love it so much. I am waiting to try pork but is not in stock right now. We try to go very clean in meat and this does.

Very happy to find such clean and high quality meat and eggs that deliver to door. I've also learnt so much from their website regarding how to raise the most nutrient dense animals, and how to improve my family's health. I also really appreciate the uncommon cuts they offer, like beef tendon, Korean galbi. I feel that the price is fair for the quality. I've been ordering every month since I discovered them earlier this year.

First time buyer here and I’m so grateful I found you guys. Since I am disabled and from North Van, at first I was apprehensive about coming out all the way to the farm. Thankfully there is free delivery and I was very excited. Because of my disability and also having a severely compromised immune system, I don’t get out much, and it’s been a struggle trying to find locally sourced organic meat, that I can get delivered. On top of all this, the meat was delicious. I typically am not a huge red meat eater (and I also do not eat pork), but the New York striploin was oh so good. It was so juicy and flavour filled, and I will definitely have to order more next time. I also ordered chicken thighs and I found them to be very flavourful, not bland and watery like the store bought ones. We have been ordering from Sumas for the past year and have been nothing but impressed with their products. We have all but stopped buying products from the supermarket since finding this farm. The delivery service is very convenient and always on time, and everyone we have interacted with from the farm have been so genuine and kind. We love that we can support, local, low food mile and ethical farming practices. Highly recommend!

I would give closer to 12 stars. Everything is even further above the level of "above and beyond". The amount of effort they go to to "exceed" is unimaginable. This farm is the cream of the cream. They constantly do so much research to learn to feed and treat the animals even better than the highest standards. Kelly once showed me all the extra things they have done to make the quality better, just because they care. Because it really all comes from the heart. They are so dedicated, and it is phenomenal to find people who are like this. I wish I had the ability to be like them in most things that I do. If all businesses were run this way, we'd be pretty close to a perfect world. The quality is outstanding. I taste the meat and, every time, it's like a revelation of how phenomenal properly raised food can and should taste. Plus the health benefits are exceptional. (Yes, I'm sure I sound unrealistically over-enthusiastic, but that's the kind of review they deserve, for what they do. They *are* that impressive. Just take a look at all the information on their site.) For the other reviewers who said the grass-fed beef is tough, etc. I really do have to take issue and disagree strongly. This is the way cows were always meant to be fed. This is what natural IS. Grass-fed AND grass-finished. We're so used to supermarket beef that we've lost track of what beef should taste like. If grass-fed is cooked correctly, [and yes, you do need to cook it differently from the lower-quality stuff], it is succulent, nourishing and delicious. They will tell you how to cook it, and there are also lots of resources online. But aside from the taste advantages, which are huge, the real gold is the health benefits. When I was around the area full time, to be able to eat Sumas's meat regularly, I felt 300% better. Because this is the way we were meant to eat. Not chemical-laden, toxic grain/corn-fed, soy-fed detritus that we've been duped into believing is acceptable. My praise and thanks to Kelly and everyone at Sumas Mountain Farms for putting so much work into what they do, for the benefit of the rest of us. This is a gold standard operation, and I am beyond impressed and appreciative. I wish there were more places like this in the world. And I wish I were around the area more regularly, so I could order exclusively from here.

We have been ordering from SMF for the last few years on a very regular basis. They are our go to source for grass-fed, organic and soy/corn free and sustainable / humanely raised meats. The owners have always been wonderful to deal with and we love the free home delivery. Can't say enough good things about them and the owners are wonderful to deal with as well.

We have been buying regularly from Sumas Mountain Farms for the last few months and we couldn't be happier! The chicken is fantastic and the ground beef and stewing beef are delicious too! Love how the animals are ethically treated ..... I remember years ago when we first found this farm and Kelly gave us a tour of the farm, our boys got to see the animals out and about foraging and being treated well.
