Unless your local and just wanna go for a ride(in which case you wouldn't likely be checking reviews), it's not worth a trip. Basically a smelly regular temp puddle that Google doesn't know how to get to that you can't get to in an average car(rough path/road), even after driving 10 kms on rough dirt road.

This is definitely a hidden gem of Elkford. Its not as easy to find as Google maps or the visitor centre make it sound. I was fortunate enough to have a local couple that was side by siding see me and come over. They actually led me right to the pool as I wasn’t able to find it after 2 separate attempts at it. The smell is at par with being a Sulphur pool and the temperature of the water is no longer 25 degrees, maybe 20 at most but still enjoyable to swim in. I recommend wearing water shoes. There is some great trails around and a picnic area with a fire pit. I would recommend anyone that is visiting Elkford to go and check it out.

These sulphur springs are located about 5 km South of Elkford. The tourist information centre in Elkford has a handout with very good directions to the site. The service road into the springs can be rough, so a high clearance vehicle is recommended. The area near the springs has an unmistakable odor. The springs are considered a warm springs (around 25 degrees Celsius compared to 39 degrees Celsius found at Fairmont Hot Springs). According to the tourism site for Elkford, "...before Elkford was developed...the spring was locally famous for its healing properties as applied to rheumatism. A seven-foot trough, dug out of a big spruce log, with a cavity large enough to contain a man still remains at the Spring." The dug out log is easy to spot near the boardwalk close to the parking area. The area also attracts a lot of wildlife, such as moose, elk, and deer.

Preferably 4 x4 vehicle, I parked at the Yellow gate and walked in although it was driveable. Roughly 11 km North on Sulphur Springs FSR. Look for break to left, follow to yellow gate. I found it very interesting being from Ontario originally and haven't seen this type of spring other than a small one in Jasper. Elkfordian now.
