A	Amanda Starks on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went in just over a month ago because I sliced the tip of my thumb off. I’ve waited to review to give myself time to get over my experience but I’m still bothered. Because of how I cut my finger they had to cauterize it , not a big deal but I asked about freezing and was told no because it shouldn’t hurt, well let me tell you burning the tip of your thumb with silver nitrate hurts A LOT ,I feel like I was tortured. Imagine burning your thumb with a soldering iron for ten minutes. I had tears running down my face uncontrollably and the Dr just kept burning me little bits at a time until my whole thumb tip was burned. Then I had to get a tetanus shot which the nurse just shoved in me and walked away while I had blood dripping down my arm , didn’t even give me a bandage or gauze for the blood. Then sent home with my burnt thumb wrapped up with no way to cool the burn, I didn’t sleep for two nights because of the pain but had they just froze it at least the first night I would have slept and maybe I wouldn’t start crying again telling people about how much pain the doctor put me through unnecessarily. I would have even paid to get freezing, from what I’ve heard from others in the health care industry freezing before cauterizing is standard practice. I think in the future I’ll go to an Edmonton hospital. Wait time was good though and the triage staff were very friendly.
L	Laurissa McKay on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff was amazing. Gave birth here for all four of my babies, biggest problem is how outdated and overpopulated it is. There is zero availability and the fact that there are no private rooms in maternity is a huge let down.

Came in with chest pain, tingling all over and extremely light headed with an irregular heartbeat and waited for 8+ hours to even get in to a bed not to mention the wait time once in a bed. If I wasn’t concerned about my health I would have left multiple times. During my time in the waiting room I overheard a lady saying she had been waiting for 12 hours!
C	Casey on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wait times for emerg aren't that great. Labor and Delivery staff are amazing. I've had 2 babys here and both times L&D was great. First time, the maternity ward nurses were not attentative at all, it seemed I annoyed them just by being there. However, they were under construction at the time. Second baby everyone was great, nothing but good things to say. Except the lactation consultant was a more touchy then I would have liked.
T	Taylor Harrison on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is absolutely the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. Unfortunately, with where I live, the nearest medical care is the Sturgeon hospital. Every time I have gone into emergency, I have been told to wait for hours upon hours, even if I’m bawling my eyes out and cringing in pain. No matter the reasoning, they brush you off like you’re just another patient. I honestly cannot describe how poor this hospital is. The customer service is poor, patient timing is terrible. Every time I’ve left the hospital, I have intense bruises and tape marks from any sort of IV, or bloodwork. This so-called “emergency room” is more like a waiting area at a Medi-center. I strongly recommend avoiding this hospital at all costs, especially if you are in need of emergency. I don’t think they even understand what the word emergency means. I’ve had countless interactions with this hospital, and not one time have I left feeling secure and happy. Even with a doctors note from my family doctor saying “please admit into emergency” I was still sitting there waiting for over an hour until I decided to leave and go. B	Ben Louie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inept nurses, missed a head wound from an elderly patient who fell. Clearly blood on the pillow and they claimed it was her drool. Patient also has no dentures and they didn't connect the dots and to give her soft food so she only ate 25% of her meal. We had to drive into the hospital to deliver food for grandma because the staff here can't get their act together. They do the bare minimum at this hospital, cannot believe how little they care. Absolutely appalled at our experience
G	Gen G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gave birth here and had nothing but support. They even got to the point of running a shower and convincing me to use it for labour pains. I was offered heated blankets, water/ice and told to let them know if I needed anything. I really appreciate them seeing how I listened to at least 4 other people give birth before I did. The after care was easily twice as much as I got with my first at a different hospital so it was much better. Really appreciate the whole staff!

Going to the emergency here has been the greatest and most pleasant experience I have had ever at any hospital or care facility. From the front end staff to the nurses all the way to the doctors I've never felt so welcomed not rushed and thoroughly cared for in my life. I don't live in this community but my experience here has made me wish I did, My hat goes off to you Saint Albert hospital emergency staff.......
