We did an entire home Reno with Strongwood. They worked with our designer and created our dream home! It was very neat going through all the stages of the renos. We absolutely love our home! Thank you for giving us what we envisioned and beyond!

We did a kitchen reno with Strongwood Construction. They were extremely professional and did a great job installing the cabinets, tile, and flooring. Ashley was great to deal with and ensured that every detail was taken care of.

An absolute renovation nightmare with Strongwood Construction and Ashley Kary Design. Both companies were exceptionally unprofessional, provided poor quality of work, and lacked largely in any type of customer service. We, unfortunately, decided to hire Strongwood Construction and Ashley Kary Design for a bathroom vanity renovation. I will spare you terrifying granular details of our renovation, although we felt it was necessary to point out a few of the glaring concerns we had with both companies in the hopes that no one else would have to suffer through the same disaster that we did. 1.On multiple occasions, the wrong product/fixtures were ordered or shipped, and installed without confirmation of the correct product. There was no accountability from either company to ensure it was the correct product before installation. This responsibility ultimately fell on us, the homeowners, to question every product to ensure it was correct before it was installed. 2.The organization of the project team and their communication was extremely frustrating and shifted through various employees. Their communication with us began to dwindle just a few weeks into the project and was never re-established. Originally the project manager was our main contact, which then switched to the designer, and then when the designer went MIA, it switched to the designer’s assistant. 3.We had unannounced contractors arriving at 8:30 PM advising us the plans laid out by the designer were flawed and wouldn’t work. With no communication from either company, including the project manager, we decided to reach out. Ultimately, we were told, β€œYou wouldn’t have known there was an issue if you weren’t in the house during renovation. We are the professionals, let us do our job.” After the countertop was cut and installed, not to the rendering initially approved, we were told β€œthe designer sent you a text with the picture of the rendering she sent to the stone company. Therefore, they had completed their due diligence.” The photo they sent us was a technical drawing with no written explanation to accompany it. 4.After voicing our displeasure with the poor quality of work that had been completed throughout the project (tile cuts, grout, patching holes, painting), we reached out to the owner of Strongwood. He came on site and when we asked if he would accept the quality of work that was before him if it were his house, he stated β€œno, but they won’t leave until everything is to our liking.” 5.After the issues were identified, and it was decided that a new design plan was the best way to resolve the issues, the designer was non-existent. We were told that the designer works for two companies so she is too busy to attend the renovation site and that it’s β€œhard for her to find the time.” The designer never came back on site after this to assess if the new plan would tie in with the rest of the existing ensuite. 6.We were absolutely flabbergasted when we asked if they would be repainting due to the unsatisfactory job completed initially and on-going renos, which left numerous marks, gouges, and uneven surfaces. We were told that we should be aware of the industry paint standard: If the blemish isn’t visible from 4 ft away, it meets industry standard and will not require repainting. We asked them to provide the document they were quoting, which we discovered it was an American document. 7.A vanity reno that was guaranteed to be complete in 2 weeks turned into an 8-week dreadful experience. The design plan didn’t work and had numerous flaws, which resulted in a very lengthy reno, with sub-par work and designs that weren’t cohesive with the rest of the ensuite. We ultimately ended up firing both companies as the excuses, lack of communication, and less than acceptable work was more than we could continue to deal with. Unfortunately, this decision has now left us to fix their poor quality work on our own. I would think twice about spending your hard-earned money on any size renovation with either Strongwood Construction or Ashley Kary Design.

Lyle and his professional team did two major construction projects in our home, the kitchen and three bathrooms. We couldn’t be happier with the final look. Lyle is a company owner who honours his quote, and in fact, our bathroom project was almost $1000 below quote. Highly recommended. ??
