PRRA TO HOST THE 2023 Manitoba 55+ GAMES
The Portage Regional Recreation Authority (PRRA) is excited to announce that they have been awarded hosts for the 2023 Manitoba 55+ Games. The games will take place throughout the community from June 20 – 22, 2023.
The PRRA submitted a bid to host the 2021 Manitoba 55+ Games prior to the pandemic. The games were virtual in 2021 and this year Selkirk was finally able to host following 2 years of being unable to. The PRRA was ecstatic to receive the news that the bid was successful and recognize how important events like these are to our community. On June 8th it was officially announced that the 2023 Manitoba 55+ Games will be held in Portage la Prairie.
There will be many committees and volunteer opportunities for community members. More details will be available in the coming months as planning begins.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this place. It's a nice new building and it's always clean and tidy. The gym is the best in town. The pool, hot tub and slide are great. I just wish they had a steam room!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waited for almost 2 hours to get in. Also, if you don't want your shoes and other belongings stolen, bring a lock and lock your stuff up. I ended up having my shoes stolen off the shoe rack! They also did not accept debit and the change room floors were disgusting ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place has two hockey arenas. We had a hockey tournament there and it was great! Stride arena has a very comfortable viewing area all around the arena with fan's section. Portage mutual arena has three rows of seats on one side of the arena, but the viewing in from the above which is great.
There is a nice hockey supply store inside.
Canteen was working.
Parking was full and it was not easy to find a spot. In addition it was snowy weekend and the city roads to the place were not cleaned at all which was the only thing that disappointed us.
