★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Stony Mountain Quarry is a beautiful place to go for a walk or run in the trails. There is a map of the trail system throughout the quarry located on Dufferin Avenue at the base of Pike's Peak where the trail begins, with a small parking area on the grass beside it. The trail is just under 3 km in length and forms a loop.
The gravel trail leads around the perimeter of the quarry through forested sections and open areas with nice views. There are some ups and downs to get the heart pumping along the way. There are often young people dirt biking and quadding in the centre of the quarry, but they shouldn't be on the walking trail. The noise can disrupt the peace sometimes, unfortunately. Overall, this trail system in the quarry is a hidden gem in town and such a lovely place to enjoy nature and exercise outdoors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely phenomenal view of the quarry from many different angles, big giant circle with access to short wooden trails for pedestrians or atvs. Theres also a big sliding hill if youre brave enough to climb it a few times. And if you like wall climbing there's a few spots to Boulder around there for the amateur climber. Worth a stop in at least once!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love that its so close to home! Great place for walks all year around and with our kids. We have been here to slide down Pikes Peak, and on the smaller hills in the quarry. The boys love biking down the hills in the summer and fall. There are benches through out the park for resting and picnic stops by the new Bison stage.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my first time returning to this quarry in close to a decade, and I was pleasantly surprised. A short walk from the parking area will land you in the middle of a retired rock quarry, where it is easy to forget you're in the middle of town and no stretch to feel like you've left the prairies. Very happy to see resources being put into this park. The signed walking trails in the park provide some nice views and a few moderate elevation changes. The entire marked trail system is stroller/wagon friendly. Worth the short drive from Winnipeg, and close enough to the city to enjoy on a summer evening. For those who are looking for more of a hike than a walk in the park, I suggest exploring the north side of Fossil Ridge.
