Stavro's Greek Restaurant & Lounge

I was looking for a restaurant/ takeout place to go that is close to my new work place. Went in for my first time and asked what the most popular dish was, they said the chicken souvlaki so i ordered it. Cashier didn’t inform me that he was giving me a full on platter, in fact he didn’t tell me much at all- i asked for a souvlaki with fries on the side and paid for my order. My total was 24$$ which i thought was over priced but i paid anyway(my mistake). I ordered a juice that was 5$ so i didn’t think too much of it, the people behind me ordered two sandwiches and paid 10$ less then what i had. After they left i asked the cashier to see a lunch special, 6.99 for a chicken souvlaki and 8 for a combo. I asked him what he gave me and he gave me the most expensive chicken souvlaki order. I asked him was it a bigger order and he goes “not really” i replied, “So you gave me the most expensive order?” He says uhhh chuckles and says yea and walks away. He was gone for quite some time and his manager was sitting at a table by the bar talking on his phone and ignored me for a good 5-10 minutes until i spoke up. He came over and was kinder and changed my order to the lunch special (if the cashier were a professional employee they would have originally offered it to me) and got some money back however i still feel scammed. I did not want a platter nor was i even informed properly or spoken to professionally by the cashier. I had to wait an extra 5 minutes for them to send back my order and turn it into a souvlaki sandwich that was chalk full of red onions and i would have liked the bread to be white and toasted but was not asked. I like onions so it wasn’t a big issue but oh boy, if i didn’t. This customer service was actually frustratingly disrespectful but i should have taken a hint from the previous unhappy customer. Sandwich and fries were decent (especially fries) and filling but for 13$ i thought i would gotten more. Their orange juice is pasteurized but has no added sugar which was also kind of disappointing and i didn’t find out until i drank it. I have an hour lunch and i feel like i wasted it. I would suggest looking into their menus and specials on your own and not trusting them. ordering on phone ahead of time will save you a wait time of 10-15 mins.

Great food and service...I enjoyed the entertainment on Friday and Saturday.

Stavro's Restaurant is one of the best Greek restaurant in the area. We have tried their food few times and we have enjoyed every single time. Staff are so friendly and treat their customers professionally. Once we had a big order for take out and by mistake I thought one of the orders was missing. When I called the restaurant back, they just apologized and prepared another one without any questions. Later I noticed it was my mistake, and the right number of food was prepared. So I called the owner and he was so kind. He did not let me pay for the extra food and considered it complementary from his restaurant to us. Thanks Stavro's team.

Service was good but slow; ordered a gyro sandwich and was great tasting sandwich. Very filling.

I ordered the beef and lamb gyro and I couldn’t tell which is beef or lamb ? It was salty and it really tasted like microwave food. Not coming back here ? I probably ate 1/4 of it.

Upon approaching the restaurant, it looks like it'll be a disappointment but the food and service are excellent. I brought my colleagues here for lunch and we ordered the trio dip and fried calamari as appetizers. The dips are delicious but the calamari wasn't to my liking, they were a little too thick. For my main, I chose the beef and lamb gyro plate with rice and lemon potatoes. The gyro is the best I've ever eaten, soft and moist with perfect seasoning. The lemon potatoes were also delicious and the salad dressing is quite good. I'll definitely visit Stavros again. Couple of tips, don't expect Greek or espresso coffee, they have a Keurig. Also, the bathroom, at least the men's, is very small and claustrophobic.
