Starlight Child Care Centre

Both my son and daughter spent time in Jenny s care and they had a wonderful time. They wouldn't stop asking to go back to Jenny.

I just loved the day care. When we first visit to the day care for a tour, we just feel very comfortable and ask to save the spot right away. I was very impressed by each staff members. They were all nice and friendly plus highly professional with the children. They also cared about the parents and if i had concerns about anything.

This year our son turns 4. It has been 2 years since we enrolled him to Starlight Child Care Center, and it is hard to overestimate the changes. Two years ago, after difficult reallocation from Europe to Canada, he has lost sleep and was very irritative. Sometimes it took an hour to finish our breakfast and a great deal of talking to have him behave well in shops. English, a foreign language that he could not understand, was another factor of stress for him. Both me and my husband were on the verge of breakdown. How lucky we were to enrol him to Jenny’s day care! It was a matter of weeks as he recovered normal and healthy sleep. Soon after, irritations and hysterics have yield to beautiful smile and good behaviour. By Jenny’s advice we provided her with a short vocabulary in our native language that she used to communicate with our son. And as she used it along with English, he quickly grasped main terminology in English, and was no longer isolated from other kids by the language barrier. Today he enjoys company of his friends, speaks fluently two languages, reads simple words, counts to 10 and can perform simple arithmetics actions. In summary - our family has become a great fan of Starlight Child Care center. I hope you understand why, and will like it too!

So grateful for the fantastic care my son has received from Jenny and Vidalia over the years... these ladies truly love what they do and it shows. The program is the perfect combination of fun and educational (both academically and socially), the food Jenny prepares is healthy and has tons of variety, and my son looks forward to going to daycare every morning. Couldn't ask for anything more!

My daughter started at Starlight at 1 year old and stayed until she attended Kindergarten. Starlight is the best daycare. Jenny & all the staff are so kind & nurturing. The children were always kept busy, they would go on field trips to explore the nearby parks, bus rides to the library and so much more. I'm so happy my daughter attended Starlight, she has so many wonderful memories!

My son attended Starlight for over 2.5 yrs until we moved away. Jenny and the rest of her staff created such a positive and fun environment for my son to learn, develop and grow into the little man that he is now. I'm so grateful for the guidance that they gave my son every day. Such an amazing team!

A friend of mine from church had been taking care of my son for three years after I went back to work, and I thought he would just remain with her for one more year before he started Kindergarten. However, when this friend died suddenly in the summer of 2015 I had the momentous task of trying to find a centre that would provide as excellent care for him as he had been receiving up until then. Ironically, Starlight Child Care Centre was, I think, the very first daycare that I looked up, Jenny was the first person to respond among all the daycare owners that I had contacted, and her centre was the only one that I actually visited before I made the decision that it was there that I would feel completely comfortable about leaving my little boy every day while I went to work. It just seemed like it was meant to be. My son felt right at home from the very first day. He was always happy about going to be with his friends and I could tell that he felt completely secure and loved by all the Starlight staff members and he exuded confidence and enthusiasm in his interactions with them and with the other children. I couldn't have asked for a better situation for him. I myself was greatly impressed by each and every staff member. Without exception, they were all gentle and kind yet firm and highly professional with the children, and they worked very hard to plan activities, crafts, and outings that would be engaging and memorable for them. They also cared about the parents and were more than accommodating if ever I personally had concerns about any of the activities. They took time to get to know both parents and children alike and successfully created a real community atmosphere among all the families attending the (at the time) two centres. The summer and winter potlucks were especially enjoyable and provided a great opportunity for families to interact with one another. Jenny is an absolutely wonderful director and I feel so very blessed to have found Starlight Child Care Centre. My son was indeed sad to leave all his friends there when he started Kindergarten this year. They had truly become almost like a little family for him. I, too, miss everyone!

My son was at Starlight Chid Care Centre for 2 years before he was off to kindergarten. The staff team is amazing. They are friendly, kind, caring and very professional. I really loved the way the staff would connect and engage with the children. My son always had fun and enjoyed the activities, free play, circle time and going outside for nature walks around the neighbourhood. I felt very respected as a parent as there was always open communication about my son's day, and they would send pictures to show me how he was doing. I would recommend Starlight to anyone we had the best experience with them!
