I spent 500$ on orthotics, 200$ for the shoes he insisted, plus the visits 150$. Then I lost one having to replace it. So another 250$. So I'm in for a 1,000. I am retired so all this with the promise he would make me a pair that I can use. He also insisted I wear the orthotics gradually and all the time. My feet got worst and worst. I could not walk for several days. At one point I was using crutches because my feet hurt so badly. This circle continued of wearing them and going back to Starks. He would send the orthotics away to be altered 3 times and each time I suffered severe pain needing to stay off my feet or use crutches. I spent over 6 months hoping he would listen to my situation Then I moved out of town so a few weeks had passed so I made an appointment. When I arrived at his office in white rock I asked if he would be able to fix the orthotics. he told me I had to pay another 50$ to ask him for any of his time. He went on to explain that my time had expired and if I wanted to speak with him he wanted 50$. So I asked him if he could fix the orthotics...... his response was pay me 50$ first. Why would I give u more money if you can not fix them? I try to reason the situation asking for an exception because "time has lapsed " I was pretty much begging just from your heart can you overlook the few days that had lapsed and talk with me. The office was empty so it was not busy st that time. Then he came into my space. Very close. I could smell his breath that's how close he was. I actually back away because I did not know where his anger would carry him. He told me to leave and I continued talking when he told his employee Jan to call the police. I was shocked. Of course I left. Leaving the orthotics on the counter. Since this situation I have spoke to another who felt sparks took advantage. I went to him with a doctors report, exray. He made my feet worse not better. My experience with Starks was poor. He can not make orthotics for individuals who have any kind of foot deformities that's for sure like Flat feet.

Don't recommend unless you believe in using orthotics for the rest of your life! Did not provide a medical diagnosis nor any scans or diagnosis tools. Told my young child could not walk for weeks if we agreed to go forward and that there would be a requirement to remain sedentary for 8 weeks until muscle atrophy developed? Then tore out shoe insoles and recommended not using superfeet and walking in flat shoes with fallen arches. Problem resolved by opening up hips and some conscious thought about walking correctly. Reported him to the proper association without success. We honestly don't believe in western medicine anymore and wondering if orthos are necessary at all at after this incident.

Dr Stark is by far the most professional and expert on the foot and its needs. I have 5 pair of his orthotics and they have saved my posture and more importantly, my golf game. His stretching book is a must read. Do yourself a big favor and go see him.

Dr. Stark is a lifesaver! His expertise and proper fitting of my orthotics has stopped the chronic hip and neck pain I was suffering from for over a year. They are pricey, insurance helped, but to me, it has been worth every penny. They fit great in my SAS shoes, and I am a happy camper, now. He's also extremely knowledgeable being a body mechanics expert as well as very sports medicine minded. I wear them religiously, and I cannot recommend him highly enough!
