We had a birthday party on may 20, 2022 and we had an amazing experience, the food was also really good.

BEWARE!!! Looks good on paper but NOT the reality. I inquired about booking a venue there for my upcoming wedding this summer. My wedding planner and I emailed and corresponded with Akash who give us the details and pricing of the package we were looking for. I booked an appointment as soon as possible for my parents to see the venue which was scheduled for 3days after the initial contact as I am out of town. Even my decorator went to see it the next day after my inquiry because of serious how we were about securing the place but she told me to make sure to get everything discussed verbally be written on the contract as they are not very forthcoming with details and lack a bit of experience since it’s a new family owned facility. Venue is beautiful but the logistics are deceiving. Just when we were about to sign the contract like within 45 mins - 1 hour, everything started changing with the dates and pricing especially when they made us aware it was available just the moment my parents started the tour. So much miscommunication between staff, disorganized and not upfront with the details. Very dishonest and disrespectful!!! Literally makes it like a bidding war and gives to the highest bidder. I’m appalled at the lack of customer service and how they treat others. Literally threw my parents out because they questioned them about the issues that were coming up after filling out the forms and about to sign the contract to make a deposit. The owner Jason has no regard for anybody. Highly disappointed with the experience that occurred and will make sure nobody within my community patronizes this venue to succumb to this absurd treatment especially after going through the right procedures and made to feel so disrespected. Do Better if you want to stay in business for long! Very unprofessional. —— — UPDATE!!! I have a screen shot of the previous response that the owner replied to me in regards to this review .. “calling me cheap and that he feels sorry for my event” WOW!!! Lemme post it for y’all to see. Nothing else further to add. Their words speaks for themselves. I definitely dodged a bullet. Appalling! —— UPDATE. 2!!! Now that you want to act a bit more civil with your revised response from the owner, please let’s get your facts straight. Nobody asked you to hold a date. In the moment my parents were touring the places just before signing contract, you confirmed date was still available as you said Hall B was booked and Hall A was available. I never brought up anything about price matching venues. If Akash wants to be sincere, he will say it as it was discussed and what he offered us. Facts are sacred. Let truth be your guiding light when dealing with others. - Will just add the screenshot and let others judge for themselves.

Run away! Having been to a few different events here, here is what I have to say: Terrible communication. They advertise one thing, but offer something else (ie. 600 people fitting into the hall). Last minute changes to contract definitons. Find any way to charge extra (ie. by miscounting attendees). Lights didn't work as promised. Speakers didn't work. Port for plugging in computer is half way down the hall, and not near where the DJ sets up. Everything seems to be of cheap quality which may or may not work the day of one's event. Prior to the event starting, an employee accidentally dropped the hot tea (they were under a lot of pressure to be ready) and instead of helping or asking if the employee was ok, one of the management/ owners standing near by told the employee to hurry up and clean while proceeding to walk away (no help offered!!!!!). Total disrespect. My mom had to approach the employee to make sure they were ok and didn't get burned. All in all, I would not recommend this hall to anyone.

We has cousins marriage yesterday.. Staff member Kiran was awesome. She went above and beyond and everything went smoothly and seamlessly.

I had my ladies sangeet at Star this last weekend and all I have to say is it was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and the entire process from booking to having my event was absolutely amazing and stress free ! Harleen went above and beyond for us and we’ll definitely be booking for other events with star !

We booked this venue for my son’s wedding and had two events at Star Banquet hall. I will say that it was nothing short of magical experience. The staff were extremely helpful and diligent in ensuring all of our requests were met. Both of our events ran incredibly smooth thanks to management and staff; they were delightful to work with during an admittedly stressful time. Above all food was so delicious. The space is very nice - we got some beautiful photos. I would highly suggest booking at Star Banquet.

Great place for your next event. We used book our events at their previous location. Jay and the crew moved to Star and are doing very well. We have always received top notch friendly and professional services. This new location is a step up and fabulous news-their chef came with them to Star.

I don’t even know where to begin with Star. I first contacted them for my wedding over two years ago. Jason answered all my questions and provided with many options for my wedding. Unfortunately we had to postpone our wedding due to Covid but we were able to book it again last month. I can’t say enough great things about my experience. Rachel was my wedding coordinator and she was simply the BEST. She was very responsive, accommodating, excellent communicator and she went above and beyond to make my special day truly special. All my guests absolutely loved how beautifully decorated it was, the way the servers were so organized and accommodating. The restrooms were clean. The food was aaaaaaaaamaaaazzzingggg. The chef really customized the menu and made the dishes the way we had requested. I got married on a hot day and thank God there was proper and functioning AC. After my wedding, so many of my guests inquired about booking their event with Star. Edmonton truly has one of a kind venue and I would never recommend any other venue. Oh on a side note, one of my guest left her wallet there and Rachel contacted me right away and she made sure it was returned to my guest. Rachel, thank you so much for being so amazing. You rock at your job and you’re the best coordinator anyone can ask for. I would book with Star again in a heartbeat. Thank you ALL so much for the best hustle free/ stress free wedding experience.
