About St Michael School
Catholic Education in Weyburn started in 1950 when four Catholic Nuns, Loretto Sisters of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, arrived in Weyburn at the invitation of Monsignor Jansen, Pastor of St. Vincent de Paul parish. The old rectory was converted into housing for the sisters and classrooms for students from grades 1 to 7. The Loretto Academy, as it was known, operated until 1956.
