I welcome you to “The Anglican Parish of St. George, Wakefield” church website.  We are an exciting, vibrant and growing congregation, which has nourished God’s people since 1904.

I am privileged to have been part of the team since 2000.  I trust that our website will be a means for us to build a good relationship with you and to keep you informed of what is happening, and how you can participate fully in the life of our church.  May God’s blessings be with you and in all that you do.

Good News

Welcome back to Church. Great News, we are once again enjoying coffee and fellowship after churchin the church hall.   All are Welcome.  In person worship service & gatherings has resumed. All local and provincial health regulation orders in effect will be followed.   Masks are now optional.  Our regular Sunday worship service will still be available via live stream on Facebook.  Follow St Georges Wakefield Anglican Church. Hope to see everyone soon.

ANNUAL FARMER’S MARKET 2022

We are pleased to share St. George will be hosting the annual Farmer’s Market in 2022!

Friday, August 12 – 9:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 13 – 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to be held at Clandeboye Community Club.

We have set up a new tarped shed to the west of the parking lot, behind the church sign. Please pass the word to community members that we are accepting donations of clean, working order condition items.   Items must be boxed (where possible) and stacked neatly in the shed on the pallets (not directly on the ground).

We will be looking for the following volunteer shifts:

Thursday, August 11 evening after 5pm – Set Up Crew (trucks to drive items from church to hall, people to set up tables and unpack boxes onto tables).

Friday, August 12, 9am – 7pm Cashiers (comfortable handling money and bargaining!)

Saturday, August 13,  morning 8am-1pm – Cashiers

Saturday 1-4pm – Clean Up Crew (pack up all items for disposal or donation, and put away tables)

As always, we will be accepting any baking and fresh produce.    Canteen with hot dogs and drinks will be for sale.

PEGUIS FLOOD EVACUEES

With the endorsement of the Diocese of Rupert’s Land, our church will be a drop off location for donations and monetary gifts to be distributed evenly to families and individuals of the Peguis Flood Evacuees.   Please see the attached letter.    Receipts will be issued for monetary gifts over $20.00.   Cheques can be made payable to St. George Wakefield Anglican Church.  Thank you.

Congratulations to all the students graduating this year.   Good luck to all others going into the next grade.    Thank you to all teachers and staff.    Enjoy your summer!
