Canada’s oldest Greek Orthodox Church was established in 1937. Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, near Yonge & Dundas Square. Beautiful church which has an upper deck, balcony seating and a small banquet hall in the basement.

A man at the door was condescending when I asked about if there were any events, services, or music (I saw people waiting outside, so I was curious to enter some peace but I got the opposite). It felt like I entered a luxury store, not a church. I think he defiles a church by scoffing at people, maybe because I am a young woman. This is why young people are leaving in greater numbers, they have no patience for bad attitude, especially when they need God. Don't let people scare you away from good, maybe they are suffering too. I feel sorry for him, I forgive him and may he forgive himself for judging curious people.

Attended service on Mother's Day. A toddler was allowed to disrupt and run screaming up and down the aisle for 20 minutes!!. At end of service toddler's mother was rewarded with a bouquet of flowers for clearly being an incompetent mother. Obviously Mom knew the priest. Good to know if one knows this priest they get to freely disrespect the whole congregation and run a muck. A true disgrace and embarrassment.

I was at sick kids visiting my godson and his family. My godson went in for surgery. His mother and I walked over to the church and they were extremely friendly. The secretary spent quite a bit of time talking with my godsons mother. Everyone there was so friendly and the church was so beautiful. Both of us really appreciated it.

I attended a funeral service here as a pallbearer during C-19 lockdown. The church was beautiful, and the staff there were respectful and accommodating. They helped maintain dignity and warmth in a difficult event during lockdown, which was no mean feat.

The oldest Greek Orthodox Church in Canada. This church is absolutely magnificent with the iconography inside. It is kept in immaculate condition and still very much loved by it's community! I believe it is open for the public during DOOR OPEN TORONTO! Definitely worth checking out!

Visited this church for the first time this spring as a part of Doors Open Toronto. It is absolutely a must see in Toronto. The storytelling through the fresco paintings on the inside are beyond compare. Highly recommended visiting this place of worship.

From the outside somewhat hidden between buildings on Bond Street, a beautiful Greek Orthodox church is found. Upon entering, it appears some work is in progress to fix some old piping. Once upstairs, the venue is filled with color and the beauty of the sun seeping through the stain glass window. The baptism was long, small, and intimate. Once the ceremony was over, the pictures began. However, one of the employees felt the need to start cleaning and putting things away, making noise and leaving doors open to watch rather than closing them. Sigh... i guess they were in a rush to go somewhere at 4pm?
