Fantastic place for history bluffs on a rainy day. Full of great history of the area, with knowledgable and helpful staff. Found it very interesting.

Nice little place. Brought back so many memories of my grandmothers house as a child. Staff was very informative and cost was by donation. Worth a stop

Very interesting museum located in a one room school house built in the 1800s. Also has the first homestead cabin in the area. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Such a great place to learn about local history. We love traveling to Tobermory to learn about new information about the past. Last time we visted the small museum they had a spinning and wood carving expo out front and my children learned the different arts, and so did I. This is a great place to stop in and find out about Ontario past.

Museum has a wide variety of artifacts that are generally well organized. Probably a bit too much signage. Didn't need that much detail for the average visitor. My granddaughter, who loves museums and is generally very patient, grew bored quickly. Found myself skimming and summarizing far to often. The house was closed when we were there, so we didn't get to st that half.

We spent an enjoyable couple of hours wandering through the St. Edmund’s Bruce Peninsula Museum. The museum is housed in an old, one-roomed school house built in 1898 and actually saw service up until the 60’s. Records on display show that the school housed grades one to eight in the one room with as many as 30 children. There are interesting displays on the maritime history of the Tobermory area as well as the tools and habits of everyday life on the Northern Bruce. A second building on the property is a log cabin built in 1875 and was in use up until the 70’s when it was disassembled and moved to the museum grounds. It has been furnished as it would have been in the 19th century. It’s always fascinating to visit these small, community museums and to get a taste of what life was like not so very long ago. What struck me was the sheer physical work that went into making a home and a living in the early days in our country.
