Last time we visted the small museum they had a spinning and wood carving expo out front and my children learned the different arts, and so did I. This is a great place to stop in and find out about Ontario past.

E	Eileen Doucet on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Museum has a wide variety of artifacts that are generally well organized. Probably a bit too much signage. Didn't need that much detail for the average visitor. My granddaughter, who loves museums and is generally very patient, grew bored quickly. Found myself skimming and summarizing far to often. The house was closed when we were there, so we didn't get to st that half.

S	Steve Finlay on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent an enjoyable couple of hours wandering through the St. Edmund’s Bruce Peninsula Museum. The museum is housed in an old, one-roomed school house built in 1898 and actually saw service up until the 60’s. Records on display show that the school housed grades one to eight in the one room with as many as 30 children. There are interesting displays on the maritime history of the Tobermory area as well as the tools and habits of everyday life on the Northern Bruce. A second building on the property is a log cabin built in 1875 and was in use up until the 70’s when it was disassembled and moved to the museum grounds. It has been furnished as it would have been in the 19th century. It’s always fascinating to visit these small, community museums and to get a taste of what life was like not so very long ago. What struck me was the sheer physical work that went into making a home and a living in the early days in our country.
