★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The part of this wildlife management area that is open to the public has excellent walking trails, as well as a lookout tower with a view of the marshes. This is an excellent place for birdwatchers. One can usually spot an eagle here without much searching.
The hours are seasonal. The trails open at 8 am year round, but close at 5 pm between October 1 and April 30 and 8 pm between May 1 and September 30.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good walk, can get muddy after heavy rain. Lots of fun carvings to discover, mostly of wizards. Once inside the park, there is no direction signage, so you might get turned around. Not a overly large trail system so you won’t get hopelessly lost. There is a large open mouth statue, with the sign saying basically saying take something leave something. So if you have a little one, be prepared and bring a little trinket that can survive being outside and maybe you will find a little trinket to trade.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Calm and beautiful some artist gave life to dead trees with the carvings. This all look amazing. If you pay attention may in sone tree a fairly opening a little gate for you. Birds are chirping all the time lots of chirping of tree and bush birds. But extremely camouflage. Anna’s hummingbird, golden and Ruby crown kinglets. Brown tree creeper. Red tail hawk. Owls Northern harriers bald eagle. Song sparrow chickadee and warblers.
Besides that it’s so bushy full or Fauna and Flora. One high lookout point to see birds. If you’re a selfie lover you can make some cool stuff with Wizard looking crafted trees .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome day ? walking the spirit trail. So much too see if you keep your eyes open. Amazing eye for details in his work. Met a gentleman on the trails and he gave us the low down on the history of the place and the man behind it all. Highly recommended for some good exercise and fresh air. Pretty simple area to walk with well maintained paths and signage. You could make the trip with a stroller if needed an dogs seem to love it too. I doubt we saw it all so we are planning on coming back and see what else we missed and what else we can find. Enjoy ?
