★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From my experience at SOURCES Empowered for Employment, the program, the teachers, and the staff all helped me to get back on my feet, from working in the medical field to working at a private college! The Accounting and Administrative Program was great and helped me to build my confidence. I would recommend this program to anyone who is looking to upgrade their skills and to connect with the awesome staff! Thank you so much to the manager Angela, the teachers Stacey, Cindy, and Ronald, as well as Kam the job developer!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I attended this resources two year ago while on unemployment, and had a great time with the staff and my classmates. Every day we where greeted with a big smile from Jagjit , along with all the other staff. You could tell they loved their job. What I got out of this course was the courage to learn more about what I needed to go further with my career choice of becoming a bookkeeper. After taking the course Admin and Accounting Works (55+) I continue my education at home and earned my advance certificates. Today I have started my own bookkeeping business and want to thank everyone at the Source for helping me reaching my goals. The staff were there for me in so many ways, personally and professional. I encourage any one in their later years to attend, you never know how far you can go with the knowledge they give you here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently decided to take this course to refresh my office knowledge and obtain new insight about accounting principles. The course was more than I had expected, they have a whole team that is resourceful and dedicated to help you advance in your career. The program is absolutely free and includes all materials, including direct training with a VCC instructor, who trained us in QuickBooks and Bookkeeping practices. All of the instructors were very approachable and knowledgeable and I feel this program boosted my confidence in my skills and prompted me to once again look for an office job and resume my previous career. I entirely recommend this program and I am very grateful for it. Thank you for all the support.

The workshops are all so informative and well paced to meet all learning types. I enjoyed the support I received from each staff it really encouraged me to strive for success.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was referred to SOURCES BC Empowered For Employment by the facilitator of a job search program I was doing, for people over 55 looking for work. I had quit my job at a big box store, after working in retail for more than 16 years, and I wanted to get back into office work but my skills weren't up-to-date. I was accepted into the Admin/Accounting Works program at SOURCES BC, which lasts for 11 weeks. It is a comprehensive course, covering effective communication techniques, self-esteem building exercises, navigating the internet for a job search, correspondence etiquette, and proper resume writing, among other topics. Exceptionally useful was the 4 week portion of the course offered through Vancouver Community College, which taught Microsoft Word and Excel, QuickBooks and an introduction to basic bookkeeping. There was 1 week working with a job developer, followed by a 3 week practicum. I really enjoyed the course, and it was lovely getting to know my classmates, who came from all walks of life and had so much to contribute. I believe I have made new friends! Each and every one of the SOURCES and VCC staff I dealt with was encouraging, understanding and supportive. I now feel confident that, with my new skills I will be able to find suitable, lucrative and meaningful employment in an office environment. I highly recommend SOURCES BC!
