Medical Director- Dr. Manisha Witmans, BscMed, MD, FRCPC, FAAP, RPSGT, FAASM

Dr. Witmans is a renowned Board Certified Sleep specialist who also subspecializes in pediatric pulmonology. Originally from Slave Lake Alberta, Dr. Witmans completed her Medial training at the University of Saskatchewan, her residency in Pediatrics and her fellowship in Pediatrics Respirology at the University of Calgary, Alberta Children’s Hospital. Dr. Witmans subsequently completed additional fellowship training in Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in California. After returning to Alberta, she developed the pediatric sleep program at the Stollery children’s hospital in Edmonton. Dr. Witmans is a passionate and driven professional who is striving to improve sleep and patient care for children and their families. She has helped with the development of the current international guidelines on the use of polysomnography in pediatric respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders. She is an eloquent and outstanding speaker with a strong presence in the international sleep community with several publications and collaborations to her name. Dr. Witmans sits on numerous committees to help address sleep problems in children nationally and internationally. Dr. Witmans is also involved in various research projects involving pediatric sleep medicine and is an associate clinical professor at the University of Alberta and adjunct professor at Thompson Rivers University.

Technical Director – Laree Fordyce, B.Tech, RPSGT, RST, CCRP

Laree has been actively participating in sleep medicine throughout North America for the past 20 years, working in multiple capacities including a sleep technologist, clinical sleep educator and research coordinator in both pediatric and adult sleep medicine. Laree was the recipient of the American Association of Sleep Technologist (AAST) Mary Carskadon PhD Literary award in June 2012 and the AAST Dr. Elliot D. Weitzman Service Award in 2009. Laree is an active member of the AAST, is a program instructor, and sits on numerous AAST committees. Laree is dedicated to advancing the field of sleep medicine and to helping children and their families sleep better.
