Worst record shop in town. Shop is hap-hazzard, records are dirty, poorly organized, stored badly (stacked to the ceiling), overpriced or not priced at all. Owner can be nice or not, depending I guess on if he likes you. No real reason to come here.

Everything you read here about the organization of the store is true....there isn't any. Easily the most rude lady I have ever met...was yelled at for looking at records in a box because the ones in boxes aren't ready yet....literally 90% of the records in here are in boxes stacked all over the store. My friend was yelled at for looking at a record that was on a shelf on the wall because stuff on the walls isn't for sale for some reason. About 2 minutes later we were kicked out of the store for "not respecting the items" - I still don't understand what happened to be honest...if anything...the store owners do not respect their inventory by the way everything is stacked - literally to the ceiling in places. It really is a shame...this could be one of the best record stores in town if they put some care into it and brushed up on their retail skills. After being here I now firmly believe that hoarding is a disease.

I beg to differ with most of these folks on the review. While I've never set foot in the door nor have I met these people-I have a refreshing new view of these owners. I was looking for a cd from a band that played at one of our local venues (the High and Lonesome) and whilst I never thought of this they told me to contact the High and Lonesome and leave a message. The man on the other end was polite when he said this, he could have just told me he knew nothing and hung up but he didn't. Think I'll go check this place out some time to see if there is something to add to my collection. Thank you!

This venue has the potential to offer one of the better selections of used vinyl in the city. I even picked up a couple of albums from what I had access to. I would have probably bought more if not for the fact that most of the selection was not accessible. The store literally looks like a storm hit it. There are stacks of records piled precariously. Specific bins of records cannot be accessed because there are stacks that could easily fall over are on top of sales bins. I asked the lady there if she could move the stacks so that I could take a look at the selections underneath. She just flat out said it was too much work. She was one of the most crotchety elderly ladies I ever met. It is a challenge to try to walk around without knocking something over. I think they should take the time to really organize the place. It would really help customers and potentially get them to buy more.

This place is amazing. It is a museum of decades of music - and more. Jeff is knowledgable, intelligent, quick-witted, funny and personable. It is amazing what he knows and what he can find in his jam-packed piles of treasures, which, not toppling, defy Newtonian physics. He will try to find anything that you are looking for if he doesn’t have it - new or old. He just ordered something for me from Korea! Prices seem very low to me. You have to stop in, whether you just want to browse or experience a unique Winnipeg phenomenon. I think Jeff is just as happy to talk to his customers as he is to sell something to them.

the kind of place dj's don't tell other dj's about because some things are better left a secret.... but I post this because the owner Jeff is freakin awesome and deserves a 10 star review... if you like to dig leave your attitude at the door, bring a shovel, a sense of humour and block off a couple hours off on your schedule...

We stumbled upon Sound Exchange after a concert while visiting Winnipeg. The owner Jeff had us cracking up for 4 hours with jokes, stories and advice. I can't remember when I've laughed so hard for so long. If you're looking for authentic Winnipeg music history, go visit Jeff at the Sound Exchange!

Hands down the best collection of vinyl in the city. Gives you the pleasure of picking through a comprehensive collection. Very friendly owners who have forgotten more about vinyl than most of my collector friends have learned
