About Soft Health and Healing Clinic

Dr. McColman’s love of sports and fitness led him to the field of chiropractic. He received his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2001 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa.

Established in 1897, Palmer was the first school of chiropractic in the world. The Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research is the largest and most highly funded research effort in the chiropractic educational community.

While studying at Palmer, Dr. McColman suffered a soft tissue injury and was introduced to what has become a large focus of his practice: Active Release Therapy (ART).

After being successfully treated with ART, he knew that he wanted to find and utilize therapies that would complement chiropractic in his clinic. In practice for 20 years now, he is trained and has a great deal of experience in the Cox Technic, Active Release Therapy, Low Level Laser Therapy, Shockwave, Graston, and Microcurrent Therapy.

Dr. McColman enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and 2 children. Biking, skiing and boating are favourites although he loves to try any type of sport!

He takes the time to listen to what is going on and is able to use professional clinical judgement to ensure proper care is received. His staff is welcoming, gentle and caring as well. On a personal note: If I had not seen him when I did then I may not have found out that I had a partially collapsed lung. Troy understood that something greater was going on and sent me for a chest X-Ray. Thankfully, I was able to receive medical intervention and support. Troy called me personally to follow up and to ensure that I was doing ok. Troy has also gone as far as faxing information to my family doctor outlining observations and clinical impression to ensure that we were all on the same page. I am grateful for Troy's help and expertise.

Dr. Troy listened, observed and pinpointed the issue. After his first treatment, I had less pain and more ease of movement. Four treatments later my pain has decreased by at least 90% and my mobility is almost back to normal. I have no doubt that following his recommended exercise regime will resolve my issue and improve my quality of life. Brooks is very lucky to have Dr. Troy McColman and his expertise serving the community.

Dr. Troy worked me through not just skeletal healing but all the soft tissue issues. Also he gave me resources to do at home stretches to restrengthen the damaged areas. Then I recently injured my foot and just one visit of soft tissue treatment etc and I am able to walk comfortably again. He is very up to date, educated, sympathetic and the staff team lovely.

I was very hesitant and skeptical but, I will be the first to admit, my opinions of chiropractors has drastically changed. I have had six treatments thus far and each time, I have noticed a huge change and a vast improvement. Dr. Troy is always professional, and he works with you to help you onto your path of recovery. Dr. Troy provides a variety of different treatment techniques based on your needs and case. He also offers recommendations (eg. Vitamins etc.) to aid you with healing. Even though he does make these recommendations, he does not pressure sell you into anything. His staff are very friendly, caring and accommodating. I am very pleased with my results to date. We all expect to be totally healed and pain free in the shortest amount of time but, the reality is, it takes several sessions and maintenance to get close to the results you are hoping for. Each persons/case is unique therefore, I highly recommend you put your trust in Dr. Troy and follow the exercise routines and treatments he has set for you. Realistically, I know I will never be 100% pain free but, at least I will be able to cope with minimal pain on a daily basis. My quality of life (mentally and physically) has greatly improved since making the decision to book with Dr. Troy.
