Its amazing that this place runs as well as it does with only volunteers. These people volunteer their time and get nothing in return except the satisfaction of helping others. These are not paid professionals, just average people trying to help average people. Keep up the good work.

There was and has only been two nice ladies that volunteer at St Vincents as far as I'm concerned and I'm sure the public knows which two I mean. It's VERY VERY SAD TO SAY that when you have a complaint you are told "too bad" to your face and that there is nobody they answer to bcuz they're a volunteer group or whatever they call themselves. I've been trying for years to get along with these women but unfortunately the older they get the more arrogant they are. I've offered to volunteer alot of hours just to let some of the customers have releif in knowing there is one less , judgemental person they've got to go thru but I was told they didn't have any spots for me to fill and they had a waiting list taller than I was . Turn around and two days later there is three new people all at once and upon talking to them well what do ya know one ofem just walked in with a police check ,no I'd and wasn't even a Brantford resident at the time and she started the next day volunteering her services just to get off the street as she was homeless from Woodstock. I'm sure she was on that waiting list though. Wow she must have signed up when she was a teenager trying to get highschool credits. Racism. Prejudice. Hate. Call it any one of those u want but I've on a personal level have experienced two of the three and continue to every time I set foot in that store. This is yet another example of these agencies around here that are allowed to do anything they want and reep rewards from the govt on e a year for VOLUNTEERING their precious hours that are not held responsible for the racist, corrupt ("who ya know") world we live in. I pray to the good guy above"(whoever it is to you)" that my grandkids will be able go into this place one day, just one day and feel like they're welcome there ...,.. but I doubt it since nothing's been done abt it this long.

This was my favourite thrift store prior to the pandemic. Unfortunately last week I had the humiliating experience of being picked out of the line of waiting shoppers for having too many children to fit in a shopping cart. I was unaware that St Vincent's banned children under 16 from going into the store (unless they can fit in a cart). I appreciate that many of the volunteers are more vulnerable, but the answer shouldn't be to randomly adopt policies beyond what is recommended by public health. If it isn't possible to keep your volunteers safe by utilizing the measures set out by our public health experts then I truly believe the right thing to do is to wait to open until you can serve all persons without discrimination.

No other business in Brantford forces you to use thier sanatizer please stop treating your customers like this it's terrible. Once arriving at the door you are greated in a power trip manor and it's forced on you to use there gross smelling hand sanitizer! they do not stay 6 ft apart and come right up to you!... St Vincent de Paul do better the volunteers are extremely rude. I have not been treated like this at any other re sale retailer in Brantford. They must change !

No other business in all of Brantford forces you to use there gross smelling sanatizer my family we prefer our own in the car, unscented, the volunteer at the door told me she didn't believe us and forced us to use it or was going to start an argument, like I said never experienced this at any grocery store or Walmart the hipocrisy of this going into a used items shop lol they are on a power trip lol! Once it was time to leave she come over and helps her self to my things in my cart grabs the boots I bought so she forces the sanitizer but comes into my space ' please stay 6 ft away! Do not grab my paid for items please, same woman forcing the sanitizer (guess she didn't care about the germs all of a sudden)What a joke didn't want to be rude to the lady same thing happened before with the old man. Forced us or we couldn't come in. Was a total joke.

Great experience buying from this store. Went above and beyond to assist me with a heavy item. A 5 star performance!

In February my father broke the zipper to his winter coat. A friend suggested trying St. Vincent de Paul. The store greeter was very helpful and informed me winter coats were 50% off. For $7.50 my father has a gently used winter coat. A fraction of the price it would have costed to get the zipper replaced! Great prices! Thank you!!!! ❀️

Went there to donate boxes of household items in good shape. Pulled up and one of the workers looked in the truck and says we don't want that or that. They were suitcases in good shape which we filled with household items to carry the items. Then even though there were no other cars there told us to go park in the parking lot and carry our stuff across. All 4 of them stood watching us instead of helping. They seemed very uninterested in accepting our donations. In future I will be making my donations elsewhere
